Our theme for this week together on the mat is RESTORE
Having just spent 5 days on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula resting by the ocean I have returned feeling my energy stores replenished and I’d like to extend that feeling to you all by way of restorative practices.

WE ARE OPEN on Anzac Day (Saturday) with both 7:30am Ashtanga and 10am FLOW classes running as normal

* Our latest shipment of Koshi Chimes will arrive on the 1st of May - let me know if you’d like one set aside for you as they always fly out the door!

It’s time to pull on your wooly jumpers and fluffy socks
As the weather cools you might consider bringing a warm blanket or two from home, especially for yin practices! Although our space is heated, creating a welcoming warm landing pad can make all the difference at the end of your practice.

JUST IN: New to our yoga shop this week are our favourite Mongrel Socks
Treat yourself to a pair. They make awesome Mother’s Day pressies too!!
They’re so warm and soft (100% Tasmanian Marino wool) we’re wondering if they’ll make us some yoga onesies……..

On the mat with Karen this week Yang classes will take a hands free approach, shifting the focus into creating strength, stability and comfort in the lower body whilst giving the hands, wrists and shoulders a bit of a break!
Yin practices to help you feel steady, grounded and calm, establishing a deeper connection to Earth and ourselves

Many times the quadratus lumborum, or the “QL”, can contribute to pain in this area. If you have pain in this region, a combination of stretching and strengthening is often helpful

🌅 This week in the studio we’ll explore some movements to create stability and comfort through lower back, hips and legs

We are OPEN this Easter Weekend ( 3rd & 4th April ) join us for SLOW FLOW on Friday at 10:30am and the EASTER SLOW DOWN (2 hour Autumn Yin) on Saturday from 10am - 12pm

Having enjoyed a busy social time over the weekend catching up with family and friends (which was enjoyable and stimulating) I am definitely feeling ready to balance that out now with quiet, reflective times on the mat and in nature.

This weeks online and studio offerings will reflect that, with Autumn practices that will invite you to slow down and retreat from busyness and receive nourishment, creating space to breathe with comfort and ease.

🍁🍁Autumn is here which means moving towards cooler weather and impossibly colourful leaves
🌅Autumn sunsets and sunrises in the studio have been stunning so far and todays rain is just delightful!!
🌸🌺🌼Having spent the weekend creating a new flower bed, the garden is soaking up the rain’s beautiful nourishment.

This week in the studio and online we will embrace practices with a focus on UPPER BODY. Think shoulder mobility and stability along with some MFR to melt away restriction to flow.

Yoga can be a way to explore what it means to be kind to yourself and others.
It might start with taking care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Noticing how you talk to yourself can also help you practice self-forgiveness, self-respect, and believing in yourself.
This increased awareness of kindness toward yourself can translate to increased kindness for others and the world around us

This week on the mat let’s work together to create an environment of kindness that will spread beyond the mat and our practice, out into the world around us!

On the topic of kindness, T H A N K Y O U for all of the kind words of love and support that we have received this week after the passing of our dear 13 y.o. Lily dog only 7 short days ago.
Tony, Bobby and I have been showered with kindness and shared memories of our dear friend and companion

Our Story

We’re back in the studio!

It’s been wonderful to see students back on the mat in our beautiful light filled space 💚

Current Government guidelines allow for 18 people per class, so classes are filling quickly.

The good news is we’re live streaming some of our studio classes so you can join in from home 🏡
