Creative Kids Therapy

Creative Kids Therapy Provides therapeutic creative counselling to kids, teens and parents. It offers a safe place to g*i I am also trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping).

Using a range of techniques in my counselling, I have found creative arts therapy, including sandplay therapy, combined with other ‘talking’ therapies, extremely powerful and effective. Kids and teens find these techniques very engaging and playful, whilst learning strategies to cope, and getting a better understanding of how to be. Parents are intrigued by the process, the self discovery and personal development. Being creative in my counselling, gives individuals a sense of a relaxed space where they can let down any guards and be open to exploring the process. Some common reasons for seeking out a Counsellor:
• Behaviour and Mood changes
• Grief and loss
• Parents have separated
• Depressed, anxious, stressed
• Struggling with school, Bullying
• Problems making friends
• Anger management
• Issues with siblings, family change with new baby
• Relationships with parents
• A significant trauma
• Self-esteem issue
• Self-harming

Benefits of Counselling Kids/Teens
• Feeling heard and understood
• Ability to deal with emotions and feelings
• Building resilience, self-esteem and confidence
• Empowering your child, feeling more secure
• Exploring better ways to handle situations and relationships
• Learning life skills, problem solving and coping strategies
• Discovering better ways to communicate
• Feeling happier and recognizing their own strengths and abilities
• There are many more benefits, ask how

What does Valentine’s Day mean to you? 😍

Valentine’s Day doesn’t only have to mean roses and big plans ❤️

Today, for me, it looked like sunshine, a local makers market, catching up with a beautiful friend I’ve known since Kinder, and supporting my sister and best friend at their stall .gifts

I treated myself to a little something from a secondhand clothing stall — I do love my op shopping and buying pre-loved pieces. Finding those little gems always makes me happy 💛

Because love isn’t just something we give to others… it’s also how we show up for ourselves.

And tonight?
Yummy Thai food (my favourite 😍), wine is flowing and hanging out with my man.

Simple. Easy. Full in all the right ways. 🙏🏼

Hope your day has been great 🙌💕

Letting go of what no longer serves me ✨

I’m no expert in the Chinese Zodiac — but lately I’ve felt really drawn to the idea of the Year of the Fire Horse 🐎 and what it represents for new beginnings and change. 🙌

In today’s breathwork session, I released something that’s been sitting with me for a long time — uncertainty and self-doubt.😏

They’ve helped protect me and keep me safe…
but they don’t really serve me in the same way anymore.

After letting go, I had the most beautiful visual — galloping along a beach on a horse, moving toward a new version of me.🐎🌊

More self-belief… and a deeper trust in myself. 😍

Are you letting go of anything — and ready for something more?

I would love to hear 🙏🏼😘

Too close for comfort 😳🕷️

This morning while making my bed…
I found a white-tail on my pillow.

Gee… did I get a fright 😳 — and then I was trying to find it ag*in, because I definitely didn’t want that one hanging around. 🫣

We usually have huntsmans up on the walls here — and honestly, I’m fine with those.
I usually just leave them be… or if they venture down too close, I gently take them outside.

But a white-tail on my pillow?
That was a hard no from me 😅

I did end up killing it — and I felt a bit bad about that — but I also genuinely worry about white-tails and the safety of them in our house. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So even though I got a jump scare, I did feel better knowing that spider wasn’t still hanging around my bed.

Hopefully no dreams about spiders tonight 🫣🕷️

When a painting carries the exact message a young person needs to hear. 🎨✨

Today in session, a young person I support was sharing how hard it’s been to get back into school —
the change, the early mornings, returning to routine and learning ag*in 😔

As we explored how she’s been feeling through art 🎨, a raven began to form on the page 🐦‍⬛

Earlier this morning, a raven had appeared outside her window 🐦‍⬛😍

It felt really meaningful for her — and it was beautiful to look together at what ravens symbolise.

They represent protection, wisdom and connection between the spiritual and physical worlds ✨

She shared that the message she took from it was:

Even though there will be challenges, I will be okay — and I can get through it ✨

She chose a small black feather to take with her to school as a reminder of that message 🪶

I’m always in awe of how powerful expression through art can be 🎨✨

I feel so grateful to be part of moments like this with the young people I work with 🙌

Holding space, offering support and gentle guidance really matters 🌿💚

Sunday brought a very unexpected but practical little surprise 💛

Yesterday I came home from a lovely brunch with a friend…
and as I pulled into the driveway, I saw a brand new dryer sitting on the back of the ute.

My husband and my son were both very proud — like it was a little present just for me 🥹
(and my husband had been hoping to have it wall mounted before I got home).

And yes… I was genuinely excited.

Which is kind of funny… and maybe a little bit sad too —
because the boys were so pleased with themselves for organising it together and keeping it a surprise from me.

Let’s be real… I’m the one who does the washing in our house most of the time 😅

After months of dealing with a broken dryer, laundromat trips, and even accidentally leaving our laundry there for weeks while away camping (very real ADHD moment 🙈)…
this honestly feels like such a relief.

I even hooked it up this morning so I could dry my son’s school top…

And I’ve been enjoying the luxury of being able to dry new bed linen at home to put on my bed tonight 🙌

I will happily take this surprise gift 😘

A little milestone moment for me. ✨

After a really productive couple of days (and getting my hyper-focus on 😆),

I’ve finally been able to order and price up the majority of what I need for my Keep Calm Kits.

YES… woohoo 🙌🥳

There has been a lot of searching on my Mac and comparing suppliers 🤯
but it feels so bloody exciting to finally feel confident and certain enough to press purchase 😳

I can’t wait for all the products to start arriving.👏

Soon it will be time to set up my packing stations 🙏🏼

Not just a game of netball 🤷🏻‍♀️😏

First game back of netball for the year 👏🏐

And honestly… it just felt really nice to be back out on the court.

I’ve been running most days, so it felt good to be moving my body in a sport I love ag*in.🏃🏻‍♀️

But on the way there, we had one of those moments that reminds you that a drive to netball isn’t always just a drive.

The car in front of us hit a kangaroo that jumped straight out onto the road.
There really wasn’t any time to avoid it. 😔

We couldn’t stop because I needed to get to the game, but my daughter rang wildlife rescue straight away.

Later, we received a message to say the kangaroo had already passed away. 💔

It was really sad.
It’s always hard seeing wildlife on the side of the road… but seeing it actually happen hits differently.

And then — straight into the game.

There was a bit of a mix of feelings after the game last night 🤍

Tools that actually help kids. 🌿

Watching children use some of the tools in my Keep Calm Kits really fills my heart. 💚

These little moments are exactly why I created them.

Simple, grounding and practical tools to help children
feel calmer in their bodies,
support self-regulation,
and stay more settled and focused at school.

I feel so excited knowing that soon, so many more children will have access to these tools. 😍

And just as importantly…

Parents and Schools will have something practical and supportive to reach for in everyday moments too.

The little makeshift kits I’ve shared with families over the years are finally coming to fruition. 🙏🏼✨😘

No school Monday… and now no school tomorrow. 🫣🤍

After a big weekend away,
Monday turned into a very big sleep-in for my boy — and honestly, school just wasn’t going to work that day.

And now tomorrow, his school is closed due to an extreme fire danger day and students are being relocated.

Which is a hard NO for my boy!

He’s only just trying to get used to being back at his own school. 🤍🤷🏻‍♀️

And I’ll be honest…

It’s only the first full week back after six weeks of school holidays,
and he’s already missing two days of it!

When he’s at school, I’m not resting —
I’m seeing clients, working on my business, admin and household chores 🤷🏻‍♀️

So when plans change suddenly, it doesn’t just shift a school day.
It shifts my whole work day too.😏

I can completely understand why his body needed a pause.

And at the same time…
I’m also a Mum running a business.

Both things can be true. 🌿
It’s definitely a juggle sometimes. 🌿😘

Behind this calm, practical bag…

Is almost 30 years of working alongside children and families,
and my lived experience as a mum to neurodiverse children. 😍

Over the years, I’ve seen how powerful simple, gentle tools can be used at home and in classrooms to support children to:

✨Self-regulate
✨Manage big emotions
✨Feel calmer in their bodies
✨Feel more settled and focused at school

The Keep Calm Kit brings together the tools I’ve been using and teaching for many years, along with new ideas and resources I’ve created especially for children.🙌

All of those small, practical supports —
in one calm, easy-to-use kit. 💫

It feels very special (and a little surreal) to say that it’s nearly ready. 🙏🏼

Out of my comfort zone — did it anyway 🙌✨

I recently applied to speak at the Together We Rise International Women’s Day event. (.rise.networking)
There were over 25 applicants, and while I wasn’t selected this time, I’m genuinely grateful for the response that came back. They really resonated with my mission and vision and have invited me to stay connected for future speaking opportunities within their monthly networks.

This feels like a reminder that growth isn’t always about an immediate yes — sometimes it’s about being seen, starting the conversation, and opening doors for what’s next.

I’m now exploring the potential to be involved and collaborate, because meaningful impact doesn’t only happen from the stage.

Together, we rise 🤍

Brave steps into a new year 🤍💚

Year 10 for my girl — in her new senior top.
Year 4 for my boy — after some big holiday feelings about school.

Last night was books, folders, setting up pencil cases… and a whole lot of nostalgia for me.

I was taken straight back to the 80s, setting up clear contact on textbooks and exercise books.

Seriously… what for? 😆🤷🏻‍♀️

The best part was choosing the coloured patterned contact for the binders.
And trying not to get bubbles in it 🙄

I remember my Mum always being so organised — strong Virgo energy ✨

And here I am, the night before, in our ADHD household, pulling it all together.

But… it still works 👏

New year.
Different chapters.
Same kind of love. 🤍💚
