Ananda Yoga Belgrave A bright and spacious yoga studio + events space in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges in Belgrave. Our classes range in temperature from 22 - 28 degrees.

Our spacious light filled studio is a sweet 2 min walk from Belgrave station on Belgrave main street. Our friendly, professional staff will help you develop and deepen your practice and awaken your best self. The studio also hosts an array of transformational workshops and dance classes. Our diverse timetable has been designed to offer you a variety of yoga styles to suit all levels, allowing you to find the class that best suits you and your lifestyle.​

At Ananda we use infrared heating panels to increase the benefit of your yoga practice, by penetrating deep into your working muscles to give your body an increased range of movement as you progress through your class. Held within the Wombat State Forest, this immersive experience invites you into traditional yogic living: asana, meditation, yoga nidra, mantra, ceremony, mouna (silence), and seva (selfless service).

Alternate nostril breathing (with so-ham mantra). It regulates my nervous system and brings me increased awareness and peace.

✨How has your practice evolved over the years
I started my yoga journey with practicing bikram yoga for 2 years before I started practicing vinyasa, ashtanga, and yin yoga for another 2-3 years. Then I began to explore ta***ic hatha yoga, pranayama and meditation more deeply for over a year, and now my practice alternates amongst vinyasa, ta***ic hatha, yin yoga, pranayama, and meditation based on my mood levels and what I currently need on the day.

Chris is here to guide you through soothing Sunday mornings at Ananda - easing into the day with Slow Flow at 8am and unwinding with Yin Yoga at 9:30am.

This week you can catch some extra of Chris' magic at his Sound Healing on Saturday afternoon. A deeply restful guided meditation followed by playing a variety of vibrational instruments that all offer a unique experience.

Together we’ll explore:
• Anava Mala (the veil of unworthiness) – recognising our inherent wholeness
• Mayiya Mala (the veil of separation) – finding unity within and without
• Karma Mala (the veil of endless doing) – discovering freedom in being

This workshop weaves philosophy through movement, guided meditation, chanting, and heartfelt discussion; inviting insight, connection, and renewal.

Marjon honours yogic tradition by weaving in embodied philosophy and Ta***ic themes to her slow, intentional yoga flows, allowing you to experience a depth beyond the physical poses.

3 Questions - A glimpse into what inspires Marjon

✨Your favourite thing about your home practice
My home studio is my favourite part of my home practice. I treat the entire room as a living, breathing altar and I'm so fortunate to have a dedicated space where I can step into and almost instantly drop into the mental and subtle space of my spiritual practice.

✨Name a book or teaching that has deeply influenced you
"Awakening Shakti" by Sally Kempton. When I came across this book in 2020, after almost a decade of practicing yoga and a number of years teaching - the teachings completely shifted and transformed my perspective on devotion, understanding myself, and living in tune with nature as an expression of the goddess.

✨How has your practice evolved over the years
My practice started when I was 21 years young, in the states, and working an intense corporate America career. I started with Bikram yoga, which led me to my first Bikram teacher training in 2015.

I moved on entirely from that style, finding it too intense for my constitution, and built my practice back up by exploring every style of yoga I possibly could! By participating in further yoga teacher training programs from 2019 to now, my current path has unfolded and rippled out to every corner of my life, from teaching to being a Mum.
