2016 🐒 year of the Fire Monkey

I was spending a lot time with friends during my last year of uni, living in a notorious party house turned into a sweet home of making ferments, drinking tea and coffee, living with my best friends and fiancé at the time. I was coming out of a really hard time, I had experienced challenges with old friends that made it hard to feel joy, and it was my friends (you know who you are) that I spent my days with who helped buoy me, with craft, group chats about life, teas and good food, hikes, travel to Airlie Beach with some close friends to visit a dear friend, dancing in our lounge, house concerts and dreaming of a better world. At the time I didn’t know it. But everything they did was from a place of love. I’m so so lucky to have friends who showed me what love, fun and care can feel like with no conditions in a platonic way. Some would say like chosen family. I am feeling nostalgic and really grateful for the friends I’ve made in that time. True friendship ❣️

I graduated uni with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Sociology and minored in Psychology. I wanted to go on to do a Masters in Social Work. But ended up choosing another path. Uni was the best thing that happened, I met so many amazing smart people, and made life time friends. It was also the most challenging phase, where I had to learn to stand on my own and grow resilience. Have debates about ideas, and build on my way of curiosity in the world. Contemplating how things could be better for women, First Nations people, children, all people.

My fiancé and I were planning our DIY wedding for the following year. We had an amazing community of friends who we asked to help us make a celebration on the mountain, and building anticipation for what’s to come.
We were on the precipice of many changes and growth.

Who knew ten years on I’d be working with women as I had hoped to do then. And I wouldn’t change it! Living the dream life we could have only imagined, it’s not aesthetic, but it’s rich with possibility.

I wonder what will be in store for 2026 🐎 ❤️‍🔥

I am so grateful for 2025. But more importantly.
You.
I am grateful for you.
We’ve been journeying this ride together, every booking you make for your self care, sharing my content, leaving by testimonials of my life’s work, honest feedback so I can grow to be an exceptional therapist, all of it. 💋 thank you!

Right now I refining the art of doing things slowly, and not rushing because what I am creating is from a depth of care, and curated from my own experience and the women, men and people all around me. Being good at something requires time and practice, and I am here for you in the long term.

La Cave, is a home I created for this very process. A place to come to in nature, to be with yourself, to understand yourself that much more. So you can move towards the life you want.

I am excited for 2026 but more excited for when it’s actually the year of the horse 🐎 because that’s when things are going to take off.

Thank you for an incredible year of choosing me to be part of your journey to understanding yourself better, and tending to your body.

We only get one body, and one life.

Caring for ourselves and each other is an act of cultivating.

We are active, not passive.

Something I have learnt is our wellbeing is tied to each other. We can’t look after our health if we don’t have each other or our beautiful world.

So we tend.

I will be back in Sandy Bay Massage on Jan 2nd.

La Cave Home Studio will be open in January for pop up sessions. Otherwise it is closed till 10th Feb.

Take care to make space for rest, and I look forward for what is to come in the new year!

Love,
Shaadeh

I’ve been tossing between keeping our original logo and colours for a long time.

Held and Wiser is growing and evolving. This feels more me and us.

And some things are staying the same: your massage treatment is a journey back to you. It is tailored to your unique whole being with warm support, and backed by clinical and practice based evidence and a little bit of ritual.

Let’s do this together. ✨

The beginning of welcoming small acts to receive if we allow it.

The inbetween moments is what I speak to with clients over the last years.

Where can you breathe softness between tasks, thoughts, and breath?

Recently I had a client ask if I could give a second opinion on a diagnosis.

As Remedial Therapists we aren’t medically trained to diagnose.

Only doctors, osteopaths, physiotherapists or chiropractors can diagnose a health condition.

However, we are trained to identify symptoms of commonly occurring pain issues, structural and muscular testing, identify health conditions that we can’t support you and will refer to the right specialist, and how to best support you to manage your symptoms, including suitable movement and exercises.

Some therapists may have particular areas of interest but for the most part we all have the skills to help you with your musculoskeletal system.

Some common discomfort or pains I have supported clients either to manage or reduce tension:

- Sciatica
- Piriformis Syndrome
- Headaches/Migraines
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Sore shoulders
- Everyday low back discomfort/low level pain
- Pregnancy discomfort
- Pelvic Girdle discomfort
- Abdominal Scar Adhesions (CSection, etc)
- Forearm discomfort
And so much more.

I am here to help you feel more ease in your body. The intention is to support your body to self heal. Tension isn’t bad, it’s telling us something, or holding parts of our body together in the way it knows.

Our bodies are intelligent!
