Big Fig Arts Inc. Big Fig Arts is an artist run initiative organizing creative workshops, exhibitions and classes.

Big Fig Arts is an artist run association hosting creative workshops, community projects and a program of diverse and inclusive exhibitions in Bellingen. Big Fig Arts hosts exhibitions of works by local and further afield artists, local indigenous artists and artists with a disability. The exhibitions show at The Bellingen Brewery & Co., a venue that functions as the public face of this arts project and is home to Bellingen's local craft brewery and boutique bar. Big Fig Arts views their project as the creation of an alternative and accessible art space in Bellingen that engages with the community in a new way. They plan for the exhibitions, workshops and other events they host to build their reputation as an engaging and contemporary small arts association. Their aim is to become a viable and dynamic non-profit organisation that promotes these passions.

We are back with our weekly drawing class from Wednesday 26th November. All materials supplied and a mix of traditional and contemporary art practice in this dynamic class. We have an emphasis on techniques, use of materials and ways of seeing. The class is small and social and is suitable for all ages and levels of experience. Our next print workshop is a Spring Linoprinting session with artist Marc Renshaw. This one day workshop is held in Bellingen on Sunday 14th Sept 10-1pm. Learn this great print technique and create your own fine art prints from your own designs and drawings. We will guide you through the whole process and you will learn how to carve Lino plates and print them up using our etching press. We will have a spring time theme to inspire and direct your ideas. Beyond Jazz Weekender 🎶

🎤“WHAT IS JAZZ?” RECORDING BOOTH WITH BIG FIG ARTS🎤

“What is Jazz?” Recording Booth is an interactive installation where festival-goers are invited to step into a playful, underground-style recording space and share their answer to the timeless question: What is jazz?

Hosted by artists Marc Renshaw and Charlotte Craib of Big Fig Arts, the booth features a live microphone and looping station, allowing participants to record their responses and hear them remixed with jazzy samples and beats. A chalkboard graffiti wall and logbook let guests express themselves visually or in writing.🎧

Dressed in vintage jazz attire, Marc and Charlotte offer a creative, fun and photogenic experience that evolves across the festival weekend.
