This project was designed by a therapist turned mum. Whilst on maternity leave and unable to work, Alison Grace thought ‘how can I contribute to this community in a meaningful way to uplift those who offer incredible therapeutic services, in this time when i am unable to practice’.

Alison had a vision to uplift the amazing therapists and practitioners in our community through connecting them to those in need, and the Thrive Directory was born.

Thrive Directory is not just a directory, but also a hub for therapists and practitioners to share inspiration, education and events with the local community.

If you are interested in joining the directory as a therapist, practitioner or sponsor applications are opening now for listing in 2026.

Empowering Recovery Journey 🌱

In navigating the journey of mental health recovery, remember this: you are the expert of your own life.

By centering yourself and your needs, establish clear boundaries to maintain a healthy balance between support and self-care.

Prioritize settling immediate crises, then gradually move towards recovery while tapping into available resources and building a supportive network.

Remember, your journey is unique, but you're never alone—access professional assistance when needed and embrace the power of community.

If you are struggling with Mental Health challenges, life can feel overwhelming.

Here are some daily strategies for Mental Health support:

Mindful Breathing: Taking a few moments each day to focus on your breath can help center yourself and calm your mind. Try incorporating deep, slow breaths to promote relaxation and reduce stress.

Regular Exercise: Engaging in physical activity, such as brisk walking, yoga, or dance, can release tension and boost your mood. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week to experience the mental health benefits.

Healthy Eating: Fueling your body with nourishing foods can help you feel energized and balanced throughout the day. Aim to include a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats in your diet.

Limiting Screen Time: Spending excessive time on screens can contribute to stress and overwhelm. Consider setting boundaries around screen use and taking regular breaks to disconnect and recharge.

Journaling: Writing down your thoughts and feelings can be incredibly cathartic and provide clarity and perspective. Consider keeping a journal to express yourself and reflect on your experiences.

Connecting with Loved Ones: Talking to friends and family, even if it's just a quick check-in, can remind you that you're not alone and strengthen your support network. Make an effort to nurture your relationships and reach out for support when needed.

Setting Boundaries: Learning to say no and prioritize your own needs is essential for avoiding burnout and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Practice setting boundaries to protect your time, energy, and well-being.

In Australia, depression and anxiety affect millions of individuals, according to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Thrive Directory recognises the significance of these mental health challenges and is committed to providing support and resources for those in need.

These sobering statistics are a reminder that Mental Health is a serious issue in Australia. In order to help people thrive, first we must destigmatise topics around mental health and wellbeing.
