Modelling without expectation vs. hand-over-hand prompting 👊🏼

Who do you think will win? 🤔

Modelling without expectation wins 🏆(and will always win 🤭) because it lets the learner watch a clear example, make sense of the steps, and then try it themselves 👀🧠✨. It builds independence and understanding instead of relying on someone physically guiding every movement.

Hand-over-hand prompting can be helpful in the moment 🤝, but it often reduces opportunities for the learner to initiate or problem-solve. Over time, this can slow skill development because the support does the action for them rather than helping them learn to do it 🙃.
