A huge shout out to Alan and the amazing team at Harry Browns Benalla 👏🔥
Without hesitation, Alan jumped on board to support our CFA Fundraiser for the 7th of March.

Every time we walk into the store, Alan and his staff are so helpful when we have any questions about the stock. They have such an awesome wide range of options, making it easy to find exactly what you need (and usually a few extra things you didn’t know you needed!).

We are incredibly grateful that Harry Browns Benalla has generously donated a $200 voucher to be raffled off on the night of our CFA Fundraiser 🎟️

Honestly what a way to kick off a long weekend in Btown, get yourself along to the Glasshouse on the 7th of March – it’s set to be an absolute ripper of a night, all while raising funds for the incredible crew at Goomalibee Fire Station 🚒🔥

The bar will be open (at bar prices 😉), with live music from 2 Easy Duo and the powerhouse 5-piece Rattler band jamming all night long.

You’ll have a cold refreshing Luke beverage on entry generously donated by the legends at
Goldhammer will be serving up a delicious roast buffet, and we’ve got a plethora of prizes up for grabs.

🧹 We’re Hiring – Cleaner for Function Centre 🧼

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented cleaner to help keep The Glasshouse, Benalla looking its best!

Duties include:
• Cleaning ramp, bathroom facilities, and large function room
• Window cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping
• Restocking bathroom supplies
• Emptying smokers’ bins
• Occasionally setting up chairs & tables for events

When: Casual, flexible hours (mostly before or after events)
Where: The Glasshouse, Benalla

We love to cheer on our heroes. But too often, we stay silent about what happens behind closed doors. When Jelena Dokic was dazzling the world with her tennis, many knew something was wrong. But it was easier to look away.edgars books & newsproject

Violence thrives in silence.

This November, as part of 16 Days of Activism, Jelena will break that silence in Benalla, Wangaratta, and Wodonga. She will share her raw, confronting story of abuse that spanned 15 years, while the world watched.

These events are about facing hard truths, asking hard questions, choosing to do better and hope for a safer future. Because change does not happen on its own. It happens when we refuse to look away, when we stand together, when we speak up.

BENALLA’S NAIDOC EVENT -TUESDAY 8TH JULY 2025

National NAIDOC Week celebrations take place across Australia during the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

This year marks a powerful milestone: 50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience. The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead.

Benalla celebrates its NAIDOC Week Community Day on Tuesday 8 July 2025. Please see poster attached which includes artwork by Aboriginal Textile Artist Cheryl Cooper.

“On the 18th & 19th of March, I made the commitment to take two days out and be fully present within the in beautiful Benalla.

It was refreshing to be intentionally facilitated to slow down & be in the moment. Over this two day workshop, our group focused on key challenges for the region. One of these being the retention of youth in our small community towns. We were provided frameworks for community change and I got to work alongside some truly remarkable community leaders!

Thank you to Paul & Werner for your incredible insights & facilitation! I will be using these tools for some upcoming community projects 🌱 Another big shout out as well to for their phenomenal onsite catering of the two days. Truly, in my decade + of events and conferences, I have never experienced such incredible catering!”
