🪰PEST SEASON IS HERE 🦟
The weather is heating up, and that means pests* are out in force too!
We have a range of products for the whole family to help keep pesky mozzies and flies at bay, ranging from natural options to heavy duty DEET-based repellents
Along with applying repellent, other ways to reduce exposure to insect bites (especially in areas where mosquito borne diseases are common) include:
-wearing light coloured clothing, as mosquitos are attracted to dark colours
-wearing clothing that covers the wrists and ankles to reduce the possibility of being bitten
-avoiding outdoor areas with dams, ponds and other sources of still water, as still water attracts mosquitos
-avoiding being outdoors after dusk, as mosquitos are most active between dusk and dawn
-When returning indoors, wash repellent off skin with soap and water.
-If you need to apply both sunscreen and repellent, apply the sunscreen first
Children and infants can also use insect repellents; the Royal Children’s Hospital has some extra tips for safe application:
-Apply using roll-on or if using spray, spray onto your hand and then apply to your child.
-Repellent can be dabbed onto clothes, taking care to avoid hands and face; do not apply to the hands or fingers of young children
-To avoid potential side effects, children should use the lowest concentration and reapply as required
-Use only enough repellent to cover exposed skin in a thin, even layer. Using more repellent than what is required does not make it more effective and may increase skin irritation
ALWAYS FOLLOW DIRECTIONS FOR USE ON THE PRODUCT LABEL!
