Sometimes, our loved ones don’t need solutions, they just need to feel heard.
Next time your child or partner shares something tough, try simply listening without rushing to fix it.

Phrases like “That sounds really hard” or “I can see why you feel that way” can help them feel safe to open up.

Because when people feel understood, they find their own way forward.

When emotions run high at home, try focusing on connection before correction.

Taking a breath, softening your tone, or simply sitting beside your child can create safety, even before a word is spoken.

When we calm the moment, understanding often follows

The sun is shining, a perfect day to reconnect.

Sometimes, the best conversations with your teen or child happen side by side, not face to face.

If things have felt tense, distant or hard to navigate lately, try taking a walk together today. No agenda, no big talk, just gentle conversation (or comfortable quiet) while you move.

Walking together can ease tension, help words flow more naturally, and remind both of you that connection doesn’t have to be complicated.

🤍 Small, simple moments like this can make a world of difference.

Sometimes, all it takes is one meaningful conversation to create real change.

Single Session Therapy is designed for those moments when you need clarity, perspective, or support, without the commitment of ongoing sessions. It’s a focused, collaborative space to explore what’s happening right now, gain new insights, and find practical steps forward.

Many people are surprised by how much one session can shift. Whether it’s easing a sense of overwhelm, navigating a difficult situation, or finding a new way to communicate within your family.

Because sometimes, one conversation is enough to help you see things differently.

A safe place for you and your family.

When life feels heavy or relationships feel strained, it can make all the difference to have a space where you feel safe enough to simply exhale.

That’s what Storgé Family Therapy Centre was created for. A calm, supportive space where every voice can be heard and every story matters.
Here, there’s no judgement or blame. Just warmth, understanding and gentle guidance to help you and your family reconnect, heal and move forward together.

Whether you’re navigating parenting challenges, relationship struggles or personal change, you don’t have to do it alone. This is your safe place to talk, reflect and begin again.

Systemic System Work

Systemic work in therapy looks beyond the individual and focuses on the whole system. The relationships, patterns, and dynamics that exist within families or groups.

Rather than asking “what’s wrong with this person?”, systemic therapy asks “what’s happening between people?”

It recognises that our behaviours and emotions are often shaped by the connections and experiences around us.

By understanding these patterns, families and individuals can begin to see challenges in a new light. Moving from blame to awareness, and from disconnection to growth.
Small changes in one part of the system can create powerful shifts in the whole.

Supporting families through adolescence is something I’m deeply passionate about.

These years can bring so much change — for both the young person and their parents — and it’s completely normal to feel unsure of how to navigate it all.

At Storgé, I often meet families who come in feeling stuck or disconnected. Together, we take the time to understand what’s really happening beneath the surface. Rather than focusing on blame, we look at patterns, communication, and the relationships that sit around the challenge.

My role is to help create a space where everyone feels heard, understood and supported. Sometimes that means working with parents to rebuild connection and confidence. Other times it means helping the young person find their voice and learn new ways to express what they’re feeling.

Every family is unique, but one thing stays the same — with understanding and compassion, families can find their way forward together.

What are Circular Questions in Family Therapy?

In family therapy, we often use something called circular questions. These questions shift the focus away from blaming one person (the “identified problem client”) and instead invite the whole family to reflect on patterns, perspectives, and relationships.

For example, instead of asking “Why do you always argue?”, a circular question might be:
“When this happens, how do you notice everyone else in the family responds?”

This gentle style of questioning takes the heat off one person and opens the door to greater understanding. It allows families to see challenges not as an individual’s fault, but as part of a bigger dynamic that everyone can work on together.

Because therapy isn’t about blame, it’s about connection, compassion, and healing.

Therapy isn’t about blame. It’s about understanding and healing.
At Storgé Family Therapy Centre, we know that every family and every individual has their own story. Our role isn’t to assign fault — it’s to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore challenges, uncover patterns, and move toward meaningful change.
When therapy shifts the focus from blame to understanding, it opens the door for healing, resilience, and deeper connection.
We beleive every family deserves the chance to grow, heal, and flourish together.

Ever feel like every conversation with your teen ends in a one-word answer? (“Fine.” “Good.” “Nothing.”) This is so common — and the good news is, with the right questions, you can open the door to more meaningful chats.

In this post we’re sharing 3 simple questions that help teens open up about their day, their feelings, and their friendships. Small shifts in how we ask can make a big difference in the connection we build.

Parenting is about connection, not perfection.

👉 Save this post to try out tonight and let us know — which question do you think your teen would respond to most?

The name Storgé comes from the ancient Greek word meaning “familial (family love” - the deep, natural affection that flows between parents, children, and loved ones.
We chose this name because it beautifully reflects the heart of what we do: helping families and individuals strengthen their bonds, heal from challenges, and rediscover connection.

At Storgé Family Therapy Centre, every session is grounded in this philosophy - that love, when nurtured and understood, has the power to heal and transform relationships.

Because family love, in all its forms, deserves the chance to grow and flourish.
