✨ Welcome Mikayla to The Neuro Practice! ✨

We’re thrilled to introduce Mikayla Tunley, who joins our team after graduating from La Trobe University, Bendigo in 2025 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours).

Mikayla has a strong passion for neurological physiotherapy and brings this focus into her clinical work with us. She has a particular interest in:
🧠 Stroke rehabilitation
🧠 Progressive neurological conditions
🧠 Movement retraining, strengthening, balance and gait rehabilitation
🧠 Task-specific exercise programs

Outside of neurological physiotherapy, Mikayla also brings:
🏊‍♀️ 4 years’ experience as a swim teacher (with Learn to Swim qualifications)
🧘‍♀️ Clinical Pilates experience, maintaining strong musculoskeletal foundations

We’re excited to have her on board and can’t wait for our community to meet her!

We’re excited to welcome Corey Van Aken, Accredited Exercise Physiologist, to The Neuro Practice 👋

Corey graduated from La Trobe University (Bendigo) in 2023 with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Master of Exercise Physiology. Since then, he’s gained experience across Sunbury, Kyneton and Bendigo in both public and private settings, working with paediatric and adult clients using fun, play-based and highly person-centred exercise approaches.

Corey is a natural problem-solver who genuinely enjoys making exercise engaging and meaningful. He’s passionate about helping people manage their health, work towards their goals, and feel confident and empowered through movement 💪

We’re thrilled to have Corey on board and can’t wait for our clients to benefit from his energy, skills and thoughtful approach to care.

🎄✨ Holiday Closure Notice – The Neuro Practice ✨🎄

The festive season is almost here, and even our phones need a little rest!

🎅 The Neuro Practice will be closed from:
🕓 4:00pm Tuesday 23rd December 2025
➡️ Reopening at 8:30am Monday 5th January 2026

During this time, our clinic will be closed, phones won’t be answered, and emails will be taking a well-earned holiday too 📵📧

We’ll be back in the New Year refreshed, recharged, and ready to support you in 2026 💪🧠

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurological condition that affects the nerves (motor neurones) that control muscles. Over time, it can impact movement, speech, swallowing, and breathing.

While there’s currently no cure for MND, Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology play a vital role in supporting people living with the condition.
Here’s how:

👉 Physiotherapy
> Helps maintain mobility, flexibility, and joint health
> Supports breathing and posture management
> Reduces stiffness and discomfort
> Provides equipment advice (such as braces or mobility aids)

If things look a little fresher around here, it’s because we’re in the middle of some indoor paint repairs! 🏡🖌️

We’re still open, still smiling, and still delivering quality care - just with a few drop sheets and the smell of fresh paint in the air 😅
