Please be advised that our CVC Bendigo rooms (testing and cardiologist consultation) will be closed tomorrow, 29th October, for the Bendigo Cup Public Holiday.

Note - our Echuca and Swan Hill rooms will be open for business as usual (testing and cardiologist consultation).

As you can appreciate, our staff will be diminished due to this public holiday, so please be patient and keep this in mind if trying to contact us.

CARDIOLOGIST SPOTLIGHT - DR HIMA FERNANDO
Dr Fernando is an affiliate consultant cardiologist at CVC.

Dr. Fernando completed his studies at Monash University, Clayton with double honours (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS Hons) and medical science (BMedSci Hons)). He completed his specialist Cardiology training at The Alfred Hospital, Bendigo and Ballarat Hospitals. His interests include general and interventional cardiology. He has completed his PhD at The Alfred Hospital, Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and Monash University investigating alternative pain relief for patients having heart attacks. He was awarded the prestigious Ralph Reader Clinical Prize by the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand for this work. He then completed his interventional fellowship at The Austin Hospital.

Having grown up in Gippsland, Dr. Fernando recognises the importance of holistic, empathetic specialist care in regional Victoria. He has worked in Bendigo since 2018 and has now relocated permanently with his family to Bendigo.

CARDIOLOGIST SPOTLIGHT - DR TONY JACKSON
Dr Jackson is the co-founder of Central Victorian Cardiology.

Dr Jackson completed his studies at Monash University and Austin Health Repatriation Hospital. He moved to Bendigo with his young family in 2000 intending to stay for a year. During this time he recognised there was a huge need for quality Diagnostic Cardiology services in Bendigo and regional Victoria.

After working exclusively at Bendigo Health and St John of God hospital for many years he went on to establish regional echo services in Echuca and Bendigo in response to the huge demand for local services in regional communities. He consults regularly in Echuca, Kyneton and Kyabram.

‍Dr Jackson specialises in interventional Cardiology and echocardiography.
