Most people tell me they’re “just stressed…”
But often, it’s not just stress, it’s a nervous system that hasn’t been able to switch gears in a long time.
You can be functioning, productive, ticking the boxes… and still never feel truly calm.
🌀 Living in sympathetic (fight or flight) mode doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s subtle. Feeling wired but exhausted at the same time. Struggling to switch your mind off at night. Tight shoulders. Reaching for caffeine. Digestive issues that don’t fully settle.
🌀 Parasympathetic (rest and digest) mode feels different. Your breathing deepens. Your body feels warmer and softer. Digestion improves. Sleep comes more easily. You can focus without forcing it.
The goal isn’t to stay calm 24/7. Stress is part of being human.
The goal is flexibility 🙏🏽
Being able to activate when you need to, and then return to safety.
Because healing doesn’t happen in fight or flight. It happens when the body feels safe enough to repair.
Save this as a gentle check-in 🤍
