Designing a variety of resources for upper primary years to accommodate for differentiated learning in the classroom. Many of my resources are designed to be used for inquiry based and independent learning. Pink Tulip Creations supplies a range of literacy, numeracy and health products.

Social and emotional learning isn't separate from academics—it's the foundation that allows children to thrive. Through conversation, shared experiences, and modeling respect, we teach acceptance and build the confidence our students need to learn.

Retrieval practice doesn’t need to be complicated or time-consuming to be effective.

Short, intentional recall activities strengthen memory, deepen understanding, and help students retain learning over time. When students practise pulling information from their memory instead of rereading or copying, learning sticks.

A few minutes here and there can make a powerful difference.

Some children learn best when they can hear the learning.
Talking things through, listening to explanations, asking questions, and even humming or repeating ideas can help auditory learners process and remember information.
If a child struggles with written instructions or looks distracted, it may simply mean their brain learns differently, not that they’re not paying attention.
Different learners need different approaches.

Play-based learning is child-led, curiosity-driven, and deeply powerful.
When children play freely, they’re not “just playing.” They’re building language, strengthening problem-solving skills, developing social connections, and learning how to concentrate, persist, and imagine.
Through movement, creativity, dramatic play, and exploration, children develop cognitive, physical, and social skills in a way that feels natural and meaningful. There’s no pressure, no end goal. Just learning that grows from genuine engagement.
Play allows children to make sense of their world in a safe, supportive way, while honouring their interests, abilities, and developmental stage.
Be playful. Encourage play. 🤍

Every child is intelligent. Just in different ways.

When we understand the many ways children think, process and express learning, we can teach more effectively and with greater empathy. Children don’t all learn the same way, and they’re not meant to.

Recognising different intelligences helps reduce frustration, build confidence, and create learning environments where children feel capable and supported.

Learn the child first.
Then support the learning.
