At dinner, take turns naming one good thing that happened that day.

It could be small; a funny moment, a new skill, a time with a friend, a snack you loved, or a bit of sunshine.

This simple habit trains the brain to look for positives and gently rewires it toward gratitude.🌈

When practiced regularly, it teaches kids that joy can be found, and created, every single day.

Growing brains need time to develop — especially the prefrontal cortex, which controls focus, impulse regulation, and emotional balance. 💡

☀️ Why breastfed babies need Vitamin D supplements

As paediatricians, we love that breast milk gives babies almost everything they need — except one important nutrient: Vitamin D.

🍼 Breast milk naturally contains very little Vitamin D, and babies aren’t exposed to enough sunlight to make their own (especially with safe sun protection).

💛 Vitamin D is essential for:
• Healthy bone and teeth development
• Strong immune function
• Preventing rickets (soft bones)

👶 That’s why we recommend daily Vitamin D drops (400 IU) for all exclusively breastfed infants from birth — it’s an easy way to keep their bones strong and growing.

✨ Responding to your child’s behaviour can feel overwhelming at times — but remember, children aren’t “bad kids,” they’re good kids having a hard time.

This system helps parents know how to respond depending on whether behaviour is desirable or undesirable, and whether your child is highly regulated or struggling to regulate:

🔹 Teach – guide towards better choices when calm
🔹 Support – validate feelings and hold safe boundaries
🔹 Enjoy – give frequent praise for positive behaviour
🔹 Let Go – pick your battles and connect with empathy

By meeting children with connection first, we help them build security, resilience, and a positive sense of self. 💙

There is currently a nationwide shortage of Ritalin LA and Concerta due to manufacturing issues. This shortage is expected to continue into next year.
