SwanCare

SwanCare Caring for WA seniors since 1961, SwanCare is a full service not-for-profit aged care community.

The first residents embraced SwanCare living (then known as Swan Cottage Homes) in 1961, shaping the future of the not-for-profit and registered charity, which has become one of Western Australia’s leading providers of quality retirement living and aged care. More than 1,000 residents call SwanCare’s Bentley Park home, residing in one of four aged care centres or in the vibrant retirement living community. The 15 hectare site is WA’s largest all-in-one retirement and aged care campus, including SwanCare at Home and services such as cafes, hairdressers, doctors, grocery store, and a leisure precinct with gym, pool, bowling green, and more. SwanCare also operates Australind Rise, a boutique retirement village situated by the Leschenault Inlet, only 1.5 hours south of Perth. The tight knit community enjoys social catch ups and quiet leisure facilities. SwanCare offers an engaging community and endeavours to enrich the lives of their residents. The company strives to provide a caring community where every person feels safe and has the freedom and choice to live the life they desire.

Autumn may be here, but with the summer warmth still lingering in the air, there’s no better way to stay cool, connected and inspired than by diving into a good book.

Across our village, you’ll find three charming community libraries and a spacious reading room overflowing with stories of every genre, perfect little escapes from the heat. Whether you’re in the mood for something thrilling, comforting or completely new-to-you, there’s an adventure waiting just beyond the cover.

At SwanCare, our “Take a Book, Leave a Book” tradition continues to thrive, helping stories travel from neighbour to neighbour and bringing our community closer with every shared read.

So why not pick up something new-to-you and let your next chapter begin on these warm autumn days? 🍂💛

📚 Happy World Book Day and happy reading! 🌏✨

🌺 Who’s up for a swimsuit competition? 👙😄

The residents at SwanCare Kingia certainly were! They brought their creativity (and sense of humour!) to the catwalk, designing and decorating their very own “swimsuits” before showing them off at our luau‑themed party.

There were colourful outfits, big smiles, plenty of snacks and tropical drinks - and even a few fiercely competitive rounds of cup‑stacking to top it all off. 🏆🍍🥤

✨ A huge congratulations to Joan S and Barbara P for taking out first place with their fabulous creations!

It was a day full of laughter, imagination and community spirit.
Sun, fun and fabulousness - Kingia style! ☀️🌴💖

Love is always in the air but never more than on Valentines Day. 💗

Our SwanCare Ningana residents enjoyed a beautiful morning tea to celebrate love. Couples shared stories about how they first met and reflected on their years together. We even played a couples quiz to see how well they know each other. It made for a truly heartfelt morning.

Over at Tandara, one of our much loved residents Pamela L and her sister Elaine once again showed their generous spirits, this time surprising staff and residents with thoughtful Valentine gifts. What a wonderful treat. Thank you Pamela and Elaine for adding extra joy to the day and spreading even more love throughout Tandara.

Here’s to moments that bring us together and remind us how connected our community truly is. 🫶

🌼 Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day! 🌼

Today our SwanCare community is celebrating the power of small meaningful moments.

Across our campus, Support Office staff were out casting kindness like confetti through warm smiles, surprise gestures, shared laughter and a splash of stunning colourful gerberas from Valencia Gardens WA.

Even the simplest of gestures such as helping a neighbour, offering a heartfelt compliment or sharing a cuppa and conversation adds up to a happier, more connected community. 💛

Let’s continue spreading positivity and looking out for one another not just today but every day.

🍓✨ Sweet moments at Ningana! ✨🍦

Our residents had an absolutely delightful afternoon enjoying yummy ice cream delivered right to their door by our wonderful SE team! The classic ice cream‑cart tune echoed through the halls and instantly brought back those warm, nostalgic childhood memories; the kind that make you smile without even realising. 💛

And the winning flavour of the day? Strawberry! 🍓🍓🍓 It disappeared faster than we could scoop it!

A big thank you to our amazing staff for spreading joy (and sprinkles!) everywhere they go. Here’s to more moments that feel like summer. ☀️🍦

If you know SwanCare Tandara resident Sharon, you’ll know she’s got some serious Purl Power! 🧶✨
Our talented knitting and crocheting superstar is brightening the SwanCare community one stitch at a time, creating adorable handmade toys for staff, residents, and families.

Sharon first learned the basics as a child from her nan, and her skills have grown over the years thanks in part to countless YouTube tutorials! She especially loves amigurumi, the Japanese art of crocheting tiny creatures and objects.

Her latest creations? A sweet collection of “kissing” animals - bees, whales, ducks and more - all joined together with tiny magnets, some even turned into keychains. Perfect little gifts made with love. 💛

Sharon has also launched a knitting and crochet group at Tandara, encouraging residents to rediscover old hobbies or try something brand new, proving it’s never too late to learn.

Thank you, Sharon, for sharing your craft, your creativity and your smile with all of us. 🧵💕
