SwanCare

SwanCare Caring for WA seniors since 1961, SwanCare is a full service not-for-profit aged care community.

The first residents embraced SwanCare living (then known as Swan Cottage Homes) in 1961, shaping the future of the not-for-profit and registered charity, which has become one of Western Australia’s leading providers of quality retirement living and aged care. More than 1,000 residents call SwanCare’s Bentley Park home, residing in one of four aged care centres or in the vibrant retirement living community. The 15 hectare site is WA’s largest all-in-one retirement and aged care campus, including SwanCare at Home and services such as cafes, hairdressers, doctors, grocery store, and a leisure precinct with gym, pool, bowling green, and more. SwanCare also operates Australind Rise, a boutique retirement village situated by the Leschenault Inlet, only 1.5 hours south of Perth. The tight knit community enjoys social catch ups and quiet leisure facilities. SwanCare offers an engaging community and endeavours to enrich the lives of their residents. The company strives to provide a caring community where every person feels safe and has the freedom and choice to live the life they desire.

Celebrating Australia Day with Redz Zoo!

We had some truly wild Aussie vibes today as our friends from Redz Zoo brought their amazing animals for a special visit. From bettongs and bobtails to owls, rabbits and guinea pigs, our space was filled with furry, scaly and feathered friends for our residential care residents to enjoy. 🐾🦉

Nothing says Australia Day quite like getting up close with the animals that make our country so unique. 💛💚

Sweet treats, Aussie style! 🍰

In the lead up to Australia Day, residents at SwanCare Ningana and Waminda indulged in some classic Australian favourites - Lamingtons, Tim Tams, creamy milkshakes and even had a front row seat to the making of a Pavlova masterpiece.

Safe to say… sweet tooths were well and truly satisfied! 😋

🎉 SwanCare Games Finals Wrap-Up! 🎉

The energy has been high across all four of our care centres as residents went head to head in the SwanCare Games, each determined to bring home the win for their team!

On the 6th of January, the semi final winners saw Waminda take on Kingia in an exciting showdown of skittles and bean bag toss. With judge Sharleen keeping a watchful eye, the competition was fierce but the Kings of Kingia ultimately claimed victory with a score of 315 to 293 over the Waminda Warriers! 👑✨

Every competitor gave their all and showed that age or ability is no barrier to joining in the fun. One participant was a vibrant 100 years young, while another took part despite being visually impaired proving once again that spirit, determination and community are what truly shine. 💛

👏 Congratulations to all who competed across the games and a huge round of applause to the Kings of Kingia for taking home the gold!🏆

Supporting one another, together 💙

For many people living with dementia, small things can make a big difference, especially items that bring comfort, familiarity and meaningful engagement.

When SwanCare Ningana Care Services Manager Sharleen noticed how much activity blankets benefited residents, she reached out to one of Bentley Park’s talented community groups for help.

Two members of the Ladies of the Night Quilting Group, Kerry and Marion, generously turned their passion into purpose. Today, they proudly donated 10 handcrafted activity quilts to our residential care centres.

Filled with different textures and interactive features such as zippers, buttons and ribbons, these activity blankets offer calming sensory stimulation, to help ease restlessness and anxiety, encourage focus and support fine motor skills through gentle touch and exploration.

A beautiful example of community connection and kindness in action. Thank you so much ladies! Here’s to keeping our local ties strong as we step into the New Year 🌿

🎉 What an incredible night!

Each year, our SwanCare team comes together to celebrate the people who bring our community to life. Our Feathers event earlier this month was a shining example of the passion, dedication and heart that our team members bring to their work every single day.

We were delighted to recognise 15 outstanding award recipients, honoured for their excellence in compassion, customer service, leadership, safety awareness, improvement, innovation and creativity, learning and development, and teamwork.

A special congratulations to Cerelyn Smith, Arnel Braulio and Sheridan Radvanyi - our top award winners of the night! 🌟

While we celebrate our Feathers nominees and winners, we also want to acknowledge the contribution of every team member across SwanCare. You are the heartbeat of SwanCare and your positive impact does not go unnoticed.

“Each of this year’s winners reminds us that excellence isn’t just about what we achieve, it’s about the difference we make in the lives of others. Let’s celebrate those who inspire us all to aim higher and do better every day.”
- Phil Martin, SwanCare CEO

A big thank you as well to Nosh Catering for keeping us wonderfully fed and looked after throughout the evening.

Here’s to another year of celebrating the people who make SwanCare so special. 💙

🔔 It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas at SwanCare Bentley Park! 🔔

Our very own AllSorts Choir has been hitting all the right notes. With smiles on stage and in the crowd, this group of AllSorts sure know how to sprinkle joy and a little cheeky fun into every performance.

And since David stepped in as Choirmaster, their harmonies have soared, as has their confidence!🌟

Here’s to music, laughter and a Christmas that sounds as good as it feels!😍
