Our teams across the Riverland and Limestone Coast celebrated World Kindness Day recently and connected over morning tea and a virtual catch-up.

One highlight (aside from the yummy food and great conversations) was our sticky note kindness wall, everyone wrote something positive about a colleague, shared an act of kindness, or added an inspiring quote. It was a great way to spark conversations and spread good vibes across locations.

South Australia Police are inviting the community of Naracoorte to come along to a Police and Community Engagement (PACE) mini expo from 2pm - 6pm on Tuesday December 9.

The mini expo will be held at the Naracoorte Town Hall and will focus on local support services in the community. It’s a great opportunity to find out what services are available and speak directly with specialists in their field.

Our team at the Mount Gambier Medicare Mental Health Centre is proud to support 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

This annual campaign, led locally by the Limestone Coast Family Violence Action Group, raises awareness through events like the recent No To Violence Breakfast and daily information stalls at the library hosted by The Haven, our team will be hosting a stall there next week.

This week in our centre we’re displaying shirts from The Clothesline Project, a powerful initiative featuring T-shirts designed by survivors of domestic violence.

These messages remind us why this campaign matters and why we all have a role to play in ending gender-based violence.

Our team sharing a few simple ideas to boost your wellbeing:
- Go for a walk or do some exercise
- Put on your favourite music
- Catch up with a friend over coffee
- Read a good book
- Try meditation

One technique the team love is Box Breathing:
- Inhale for 4 seconds
- Hold for 4 seconds
- Exhale for 4 seconds
- Hold for 4 seconds
(Visualise drawing a square as you breathe!)
This can help calm your nervous system and bring you back to a relaxed state.

The Mount Gambier Medicare Mental Health Centre are pleased to facilitate the quarterly meetings of the Mount Gambier Mental Health Professionals Network.

This quarterly breakfast meeting includes an element of professional development with guest speakers presenting on different topics. The meeting enables mental health professionals from government, non-government and private practice to network and strengthen referral pathways.

At our most recent meeting last week, we were fortunate to have Stephanie Gilbert from the Centacare DV Disclosure Scheme attend the meeting.
