NATURE PLAY | is time to connect with the natural world and each other.

Our final 5wk cycle begins this week - and we are thrilled to be gathering with Bush Play again. There are a few casual spots available for the full-day drop-off Bush Tribe program, too.

Bush Play mentor, Chloe, has stories to share, salt dough to make and songs to sing with the little ones. Bush Play is for 0-6yr olds and their adults.

THERE’S NO ONE WAY TO PLAY | some children build forts, some dive into art, some run until they can’t anymore - and some just want to watch the clouds go by.

Our school holiday sessions offer a mix of active, creative, and calm spaces so every child can find their own rhythm. With a balance of guided group time and self-directed exploration, each day is theirs to shape.

Drop off programs, 9 - 3, Wed, Thurs and Fri during the school holidays in Gerroa.

LEARNING TOGETHER | we headed off to the NSW/ACT Outdoor Learning Conference last weekend to listen and learn all things play, connection, risk literacy and advocacy for time in nature.

Thanks for calling us together, and Birrigai for hosting us amongst the kangaroos, emus and rock boulders. Keynotes from and .marring inspired us to continue weaving opportunities for connection, relation and listening into our programs. We loved the hands-on nature journalling, fire skills and storytelling workshops from Greater Sydney Parklands (thanks .eckardt + Amanda Greggory Lloyd) and .

PLAY LOOKS DIFFERENT FOR EVERY CHILD | Our school holiday sessions are all about giving kids the freedom to explore what play means to them - whether it’s climbing, building bushcraft skills, getting creative in quiet corners, or diving into energetic games with friends.

Each day follows a gentle rhythm of group connection and independent time, with plenty of space for children to choose what captures their curiosity.

A MOMENT OF SUNSHINE | amongst all this rain, we were lucky to have a sunny day to romp and play this week at Bush Tribe.

We perfected natural botanical silk dying. Our young designers' creative thinking came alive.

A nature scavenger hunt through the bush lead us to find some interesting creatures. Children identified specific plant species, learning to slow down and practice mindfulness to listen, feel and look.

We also did some origami, craft and clay. Bush Tribe are learning how to follow detailed instructions, develop their fine motor coordination and sustain attention on a task.

The lovely oranges from one of our families were a treat on a hot day. We made orange juice, and played shops.

Bush Tribe finished the day playing capture the flag! It was super fun, kids learnt how to delegate roles, practice leadership skills, strategic planning, accepting losing, and encouraging team members. It's lovely to watch how the older children support the young ones to succeed.
