Back to work! 💁‍♀️

Hello Biloela! I thought I would reintroduce myself to you all. My name is Courtney, I’m your local pharmacist owner of Biloela Discount Chemist and Biloela Medical Centre Pharmacy. I am dipping my toe back into work after having my second daughter 3 months ago.

I am local to Bilo (born and bred!) and after spending some time away to complete my studies, returned to town in 2016 as a co-owner of the pharmacy. I met and married my husband here, and we had our first daughter in 2021.

Life is busy! I try to split my time as best I can between the two pharmacies and Mum duty. I love life here in Bilo, and feel very blessed to call our town home.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be introducing you to the rest of our fabulous staff at the chemist. Stay tuned!

Australia’s Chief Medical Officer and the TGA join with other global medicines regulators, leading clinicians and scientists worldwide in rejecting claims regarding the use of paracetamol in pregnancy, and the subsequent risk of development of ADHD or autism in children.

Robust scientific evidence shows no causal link between the use of paracetamol in pregnancy and autism or ADHD, with several large and reliable studies directly contradicting these claims.

Paracetamol remains the recommended treatment option for pain or fever in pregnant women when used as directed. Importantly, untreated fever and pain can pose risks to the unborn baby, highlighting the importance of managing these symptoms with recommended treatment. Pregnant women should speak to their healthcare professionals if they have questions about any medication during pregnancy.

Let’s talk about Suscreen ☀️

You may have seen a lot of chit chat online and in the media recently about many Aussie Sunscreens falling short of their SPF claimed ratings.
Choice conducted a review on 20 of the most common sunscreen products and found only 4 that passed.

With the CQ sun warming up, it’s time to restock the sunscreen stash and if you want to ensure you are slip slop slapping the “best” sunscreen, pop in store and you’ll find 3 of the sunscreens that all passed the test !!!
