Our Lismore Safe Haven team recently took part in Wellbeing Day 2025. The free community event saw a group of stallholders and contributors take to The Quadrangle as a part of National Mental Health Month. Focusing around the theme of ‘Taking steps on your wellbeing journey’, the event hosted talks, art, yoga, music, and more.

A special thanks to Andrew and Renae who represented Safe Haven for the occasion. 💙

Farewell to Woodburn Safe Haven North Coast!

On October 17, the Woodburn community came together to celebrate the final day of Woodburn Safe Haven, a gathering filled with gratitude and reflection. The space was a welcoming refuge, a place of compassion, understanding, and hope for those facing life’s challenges.

Our deepest thanks to the incredible staff, participants, and wider community for making Woodburn Safe Haven such a warm and vital part of the town. Though its doors have closed, its legacy of kindness, connection, and care will live on in the hearts of all who were part of it.

Did you catch The Buttery at Neami Cup last week? The community round robin soccer day is hosted at Port Macquarie's Findlay Park annually. It's an event that brings community services, consumers, and the public together in support of October's mental health month, raising awareness with a day of soccer, lunch, information stalls, and kid’s activities.

Today is World Mental Health Day. It offers a chance to raise awareness of mental health issues and mobilise efforts to provide bigger and better support for people globally This year, the theme is Connect with your Community. Community can take any shape, from friends, loved ones, work peers, volunteers, team mates, you name it - it’s those people who make you feel safe, seen, and heard. This year encourages us all to reach out and reconnect to those we consider our community, opening conversations around mental health, reducing stigma, and offering support.

With World Mental Health Day on the horizon, it’s a reminder of the importance of looking after your mental health, and how essential mental health services, like The Buttery, are for the community.

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare:
- 1 in 5 Australians between 16-85 have experienced a mental disorder
- 17% of Australians have experienced an anxiety disorder
- 3% of Australians have experienced a substance use disorder

We at The Buttery proudly specialise in the care and support of people with mental health and alcohol and other drug conditions. But as a charity, we rely on the generosity of the community to assist in the funding of our services. If you would like to donate, you can do so via link in bio - no amount is too small. 🙂

Did you make it to 2025 in Murwillumbah on September 20?

The First Nations-led celebration hosted weaving, cultural workshops, art installations, dancing and musical performances (and plenty more). Among the 6000 people who descended on Knox Park for the day were The Buttery's own team.
