This year has been a big one for us, a fresh new look, the same trusted team, and a renewed commitment to caring for our community across Brisbane South and the Redlands. As we wrap up the year, we want to say thank you in a way that brings a little joy to someone’s Christmas.

Today is World Diabetes Day.

At Home Instead, we recognise the importance of awareness and support for diabetes, especially among Australia’s ageing community. In Australia, over 20% of seniors live with diabetes, a condition that can affect their daily lives and well-being. Managing diabetes in later life requires a careful balance of diet, exercise, and medication.

Our dedicated CAREGivers are here to provide compassionate, individualised care to help your ageing loved ones manage their health safely from the comfort of home. This includes assisting with meal preparation, ensuring medications are taken on time, and providing reminders to stay active.

On this day, we stand with our seniors and families affected by diabetes and commit to continuing our work to support their health and independence.

Tuesday November 19th - Join us for a fun morning of Bingo, using pet or paper, prices starting at $25.
Where: Capalaba Sports Club, 113 Ney Road Capalaba.
When: 9:15am - 1:00pm

Thursday November 21st - Join us for a lovely morning tea up Mt Tamborine.
Where: Grand Chameleon, 216-222 Long Road, Tamborine Mountain.
When: 10:00am - 12:00pm

Please note that clients are responsible for covering entry fees and expenses for food/drinks on the day where applicable. However, your Home Care Package may cover the cost of your CAREGiver and travel if funding permits.

Happy Monday friends, we hope you all had a lovely weekend 💜

We're looking forward to lunch in Beaudesert this week with our clients and a trip to Ikea for a nice breaky and some shopping. If you haven't booked in yet, it's not too late, just give the office a call to organise.

We have some really exciting things happening at Home Instead Redlands and Logan that we look forward to sharing over the coming weeks, but this week we kicked off our first Energise and Socialise session at the Beaudesert Golf Club.

Energise and Socialise is the first in a series of programs that incorporate exercise, informative talks and the opportunity to make new friends.

Our first program is a 6-week exercise program tailored for seniors of all fitness levels, led by a Physiotherapist from Absolute Physio & Rehab.

After each session we will have a wonderful morning tea followed by an informative talk, covering topics from Avoiding Scams to Living Well with Arthritis.

As this is our first program, it booked out immediately but we look forward to offering many more services like this for years to come 💜

It’s been 40 years since Liz was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, but that doesn’t stop her from going caravanning once a month with her devoted husband Ian.

The Brisbane pair travel for a week at a time, visiting places like Canungra, Tewantin and Mullumbimby, often staying in the showgrounds or using caravan parks as their base to see the sights.

Ian cares for Liz during these trips, but Home Instead CAREGivers now visit Liz when she’s at home, to help relieve the pressure on Ian as her full-time carer. It also means Ian can devote more time to planning their next big trip.

Liz is really happy with the quality of service from Home Instead. She says the home care she receives has made all the difference to her life, as well as Ian’s.

We have lunch booked a nice lunch in Beaudesert next week and breakfast with a spot of shopping at Ikea next week. If you or your loved one are a Home Instead client and would like to join in, please contact our office.

Wednesday November 13th - Join us for lunch at Bistro 3 within the Beaudesert RSL. Lunch prices starting at $16.
Where: Beaudesert RSL, 23-25 William Street Beaudesert
When: 11:30am - 2:00pm

Friday November 15th- Join us for breakfast (meals starting $5). Once we've had something to eat, you have the option to have a walk through Ikea for a spot of shopping.
Where: Ikea, 3539 Pacific Highway Slacks Creek
When: 9:30am - 12:00pm
