This week is Perinatal Mental Health Week, and it was especially meaningful to visit Practice Manager Sophie and Senior Clinical Psychologist Dr Vicky Wall at Cause and Effect Psychology to hear about the support they’re providing to local families.

Cause Effect Psychology is offering two specialised group programs for new mums and expectant parents in 2026: the Mother in Mind Program for Perinatal & Postnatal Wellbeing, and the Bringing Home Baby Program for expectant parents to prepare the relationship for baby’s arrival.

🌿 Simple Steps You Can Take Today

✨ Go for a short walk: Even ten minutes of gentle movement or fresh air can lift your mood.

✨ Take a few slow breaths: Deep breathing helps calm your nervous system and reduce stress in the moment.

✨ Write down three things you’re grateful for: Focusing on gratitude can shift your mindset towards the positive.

✨ Unplug before bed: Turning off screens early supports better sleep and helps your mind unwind.

✨ Reach out to someone: A quick check-in with a friend or loved one can make a world of difference.

✨ Ask for help when you need it: Speaking to a GP or psychologist is a sign of strength - not weakness.

Remember: progress doesn’t need to be big to matter. Consistency and compassion towards yourself go a long way.
