Christmas often comes wrapped in invisible expectations, to be cheerful, to host perfectly, to keep everyone happy.
But hereâs the truth: those expectations arenât always real⌠theyâre often stories weâve picked up over the years.
Maybe itâs the voice that says, âI should do more,â or âTheyâll be disappointed if I donât.â
Pause for a moment and ask yourself, is that really true? Have you asked if a different way can be taken? đ¤

One of the biggest shifts I see in my one-on-one hypnotherapy clients is this:
they start responding to life instead of reacting to it.
Most people donât realise that their reactions â the snapping, shutting down, overthinking, withdrawing, people-pleasing â arenât âpersonality flaws.â

⨠A Little Reflection After Yesterdayâs Wellbeing WorkshopâŚ
Yesterday, I had the privilege of facilitating a full-day wellbeing workshop â and honestly, Iâm still buzzing. Days like this remind me exactly why I stepped away from the traditional medical system and into the work I do now.
As many of you know, I spent nearly 30 years as a nurse. I saw the incredible strengths of the medical world⌠but also its limitations. I witnessed people struggling emotionally, mentally, physically â and so often the missing piece was the inner work.
Somewhere along the way, I felt a pull â a deep, soul-level calling â to support people differently.
To honour the nervous system.
To understand trauma.
To guide people back to their true selves.
To blend neuroscience, compassion, and the unconscious mind into real, meaningful change.
đ¤ Yesterday, watching people unsure if they are ready to lean into their inner world, the various states of change...
I love it, because some are hungry for it, others find ways to distract and that's all ok, it's their life and their journey..
I learned something about myself too:
I love this work more every year.
I love holding space.
I love creating safety and insight.
And yes â I love challenging myself to keep growing, stepping up, and expanding the ways I can support people.
Iâm proud of this journey â from nurse, to hypnotherapist, to counsellor, to trauma-informed wellbeing facilitatorâŚ
and now someone on a mission to empower individuals, groups, workplaces, and communities.
Purpose isnât something we find, itâs something we grow into.
And Iâm seeing mine clearer than ever.

I recently worked with a client over Zoom, proof that true transformation doesnât depend on where you are, but on your willingness to go within. đ
Through hypnotherapy, he was able to access the deeper layers of his subconscious, the place where old stories, beliefs, and emotional patterns live.
These were the stories that had been fuelling constant negative chatter⌠the inner critic that never rested. đŤ
In that relaxed, focused state, he was finally able to see what had been running beneath the surface â and gently rewrite it. â¨
⨠His words after our session said it all:
âIt feels quiet in my mind for the first time in a long time. I finally feel free.â đ

đż Iâm tired of putting myself last⌠đż

Letâs look underneath the label youâve been given by someone else or maybe by yourself, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD or maybe an addiction or a phobia. The common conditions we are diagnosed with are our bodies way of trying to manage underlying unresolved issues.
On a conscious level you know past life experiences have affected you and you have worked at letting it go, but unconsciously itâs still happening, so youâre body doesnât know the event is over, to your unconscious mind itâs like itâs happening now! This can also affect your health, leading to health issues such as irritable bowel symptoms, tension headaches, chronic pain, lethargy and chronic fatigue.
Do you feel like youâre constantly battling to keep on top of it, like youâre just using a band aid? You see our nervous system is wired to protect us, when difficult life experiences occur your body pays more attention so that it can keep you safe, but the problem is, sometimes itâs getting too protective, so when small things happen, you overreact and everyday life becomes even more stressful.
Everything from major traumatic life events such as being diagnosed with cancer, or being in a car accident, being bullied, right through to seemingly harmless comments thrown around in the school yard get stored in the unconscious mind and it can shape our beliefs about ourselves.
Working together we can let the body know itâs safe, change the unconscious core beliefs to put you back in the drivers seat of your life. I use The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP), because it is safe, quick and effective. I also use regular hypnotherapy for habit based issues and for when motivation is low.
