😓 Why You Might Be Feeling Stuck (It’s Not What You Think)
Feeling stuck doesn’t always look dramatic. It’s often subtle and quiet:
- Repeating the same patterns
- Telling yourself this time really is the last time
- Reacting in ways you said you wouldn’t
- Carrying tension that never fully resolves
Most people think this is just mental willpower, but it's often physiological.
Your nervous system is designed to stabilise under stress. One way it does this is it defaults to patterns that have helped you cope in the past.
Over time, those patterns can become limiting. What once helped you cope and manage…can start to keep you "stuck".
The problem isn’t you. The pattern your system has learned to repeat to help you survive, now no longer serves you, and can hold you back.
🧘♂️ Become aware, acknowledging and accepting the pattern is where change begins.
When you don't feel it, and you try to push through with willpower alone, it takes more effort and change is unsustainable. When your nervous system can feel it and accept it, it can recognise whether it still needs it or not, with much less effort and much more resolution.
