Monaro Family Support Service is starting a FREE Inclusive & Creative Arts Therapy Group for children aged 6–12 years at the Bombala Community Centre.

This fun and welcoming group is a great opportunity for young people to explore creativity, build connections, discover personal strengths, and support their wellbeing in a relaxed environment.

Influenza Vaccinations – Available from Early April at Bombala Medical Centre

Bombala Medical Centre will be providing influenza vaccinations from early April.

Annual influenza vaccination is the most effective way to reduce the risk of influenza infection and its associated complications, including pneumonia, hospitalisation and, in some cases, death.

Vaccination is strongly recommended for:
• Adults aged 65 years and over
• Pregnant women
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients
• Patients with chronic medical conditions (including asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular, renal or respiratory disease)
• Healthcare workers and carers
• All individuals wishing to reduce their risk of influenza

The influenza vaccine is updated each year to match circulating strains and therefore must be given annually for optimal protection.

Appointments are required.

🩷 Breast Screening Bus in Bombala – 9th to 13th March 🩷

The Breast Screening Bus will be visiting Bombala from Monday 9th to Friday 13th March, making it easy for local women to access free breast cancer screening close to home.

If you are aged 50–74, regular screening can help detect breast cancer early, often before you notice any changes. Appointments are quick and no doctor’s referral is needed.

Please help spread the word to mums, sisters, aunties and friends in our community – this service could save a life. 💗

This month we recognise and support everyone affected by ovarian cancer — patients, families, and carers. Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent” cancer because symptoms can be vague and easy to miss. Knowing the signs and seeking medical advice early can make a real difference.
We encourage our community to take a moment to learn the symptoms, look after their health, and support those who are currently facing this diagnosis. 💙
