Every April I see the same pattern.
Patients come in looking a little flat. A little uneven. Makeup that used to sit perfectly now feels like it needs more work.
Summer was wonderful, but the skin keeps the receipts.
Here is what is actually happening...
UV exposure over summer quietly accelerates pigment production, thickens the outer skin layer, and starts to break down the collagen we've spent years supporting.
It doesn't always show up immediately. Sometimes it arrives in autumn, a month after the sun has gone.
The good news is that this is genuinely the best time to address it.
UV intensity has dropped. The skin is more receptive. And the right treatments, done now, work with your skin's natural repair rhythm rather than against it.
At our doctor-led laser clinic in Bondi Junction, autumn is the season I look forward to most clinically.
This is when we get to do some of the most meaningful work.
If your skin has been feeling a little off since summer, a consultation is the right place to start. We'll look at what's actually happening and what may help.
