Birth education isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about feeling informed, prepared, and supported as labour unfolds.

Because confidence often comes from understanding what’s happening in your body, together. 🙌

Acupressure in birth, explained.

In the Born Ready course, Elizabeth Cullen, Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner and acupuncturist, talks through key acupressure points and how they can be used during labour. From supporting comfort and relaxation to assisting the body through different stages of birth.

This session is practical, grounded, and focused on how acupressure can be applied in real time, not just in theory.

Part of our Sneak Peek Friday series, sharing short previews from inside the course so you can see how we teach and prepare you for birth.

Support in labour is both physical and emotional.

Knowing how and when to offer touch, acupressure, or simple presence helps birth partners feel confident and involved when it matters most.🧡

Early labour often begins quietly.

For some, it looks like mild cramps, lower back ache, pressure, or a general sense that things are starting to shift. For others, it feels subtle and stop-start. All of this can be completely normal.

During this time, your body is preparing. Hormones are changing, your cervix is softening, and your uterus is becoming more responsive, even if contractions don’t feel strong or regular yet.

Early labour can include pauses and rest. This isn’t your body stalling, it’s conserving energy and working in waves.

Understanding what early labour can look like helps you stay calm, trust the process, and give your body the time and space it needs to move into active labour when it’s ready.

The role of a birth partner matters more than most people realise.

In the Born Ready course, Sam Ziegelaar, Doula and Physiotherapist, breaks down what meaningful birth support actually looks like. How partners can stay engaged, advocate, respond to changes, and support decision-making throughout labour.

This role isn’t passive. It’s active, intentional, and incredibly influential on how birth unfolds.
This is part of our Sneak Peek Friday series, sharing short previews from inside the course so you can see how we prepare both birthing women and their partners for the birth space.

Movement isn’t something to fear in labour. It’s often one of your greatest tools.

Learning how position, breath, and body awareness support labour can make a real difference when things intensify.👣

Hearing from families who’ve been through the course reminds us why birth education matters.

Feeling informed about what’s happening in your body, understanding your options, and knowing how to navigate labour can change how you experience birth.

Knowledge doesn’t guarantee a certain outcome, but it can support confidence, clarity, and calm as you move through it.🧡

Birth education is not about memorising techniques or ticking boxes.

It is about understanding your body, building confidence, and feeling supported in the process.

Preparation creates clarity.
Knowledge creates calm.
And feeling informed allows you to make decisions that feel right for you.

Born Ready is here to support that journey, every step of the way.🧡

An episiotomy isn’t always routine, but it’s something you might hear mentioned in the birth space.

Understanding what it is and why it may be used helps you feel more prepared and informed if the moment arises. Birth decisions are easier to navigate when you know what’s being discussed and why.

Education gives you context, confidence, and choice.

“Why didn’t anyone tell me this about birth?”

We hear this from women all the time.

Assistance and ‘interventions’ during birth are often talked about after the fact, when it feels confusing, overwhelming or rushed.

In the Born Ready course, we break this down clearly so you understand what assistance can look like, why it might be suggested, and what choices you still have in the moment.

From this Friday onwards, we’ll be sharing a Sneak Peek reel each week. Short previews straight from the Born Ready course so you can see just some of the ways we teach you to feel informed, prepared and confident before birth.

Because knowledge changes the experience.🧡
