When I sat down with Edora, she spoke so honestly about her embryo transfer journey. Her first transfer was planned, medications were taken, hope was building… and then we had to cancel. Her uterine lining simply hadn’t thickened enough to give that beautiful embryo the very best chance.
Medically, it was the right decision.Emotionally, it was devastating.

She had already begun imagining herself pregnant. Cancelling felt like the rug had been pulled from beneath her. And yet — this is where trust becomes so important. Trust in the process. Trust in timing. Trust that sometimes waiting is an act of protection, not loss.

Edora later told me how grateful she was that we chose not to proceed unless conditions were “perfect.” Because embryos deserve the very best environment we can give them. And so do you.

We waited two more months. We allowed her body the time it needed. We adjusted. We supported. We hoped — gently.

The second time, her lining responded beautifully. And her very first actual embryo transfer was successful. She describes it as being “blessed.”

What I see, as her doctor, is courage. Patience. And a willingness to hold both disappointment and hope at the same time.

Sometimes the pause is part of the miracle. 🤍

S*x, when to have it and how often?

Men, wait until the end. This involves you as well!

My amazing client first came to see me after 12 months of trying to conceive. Alongside the emotional weight of not falling pregnant, she had been quietly living with ongoing pelvic pain.

A laparoscopy revealed endometriosis, which we treated — an important step forward in understanding her body and restoring hope. She wanted to try a less interventional approach initially, so we commenced ovulation induction with Clomid. When this didn’t bring the outcome she hoped for, and after enduring the heartbreak of two miscarriages, it would have been easy to feel defeated.

But her strength was extraordinary.

We moved to IVF, and her embryos were genetically screened. From that cycle, a chromosomally normal embryo was transferred — and that embryo is now her beautiful baby boy.

Today, she holds him in her arms.

She also has two embryos in storage. One is genetically normal and available should she wish to grow her family again. The other remains unscreened — another possibility for the future.

Her journey was not simple. It held pain, uncertainty and profound resilience. But it also held courage, science, perseverance and ultimately, joy.

It is such a privilege to walk alongside women like her — strong, hopeful and unwavering in their love for the family they dream of building.

In my conversation with Edora, she shared how she and her husband discovered they were both carriers of the same gene linked to deafness.

Initially, it didn’t feel like a major issue, but after speaking with genetic counsellors and understanding the uncertainty around severity — from mild hearing loss to complete deafness — they were faced with an important decision. With IVF, they were given information, options, and the space to choose whether embryo screening felt right for them.

These are deeply personal decisions, and stories like Edora’s highlight the power of informed, supported choice.

In this honest Couch Conversation, Edora shares the moment she learned that any baby she and her partner conceived would have a 25% chance of being born deaf.

Because they were conceiving via embryo transfer, they had access to genetic testing—testing that can uncover information many couples never realise is there.

A single conversation brought fear, uncertainty, and big questions. With no family history, the news was confronting, yet deeply important. As Edora so beautifully explains, we are all carriers of something—the power is in knowledge, choice, and support.

This is a conversation about informed decisions, compassion, and not walking this journey alone.

Such a privilege to be part of this story.

When my incredible client first came to see me, she was living with significant pelvic pain and a uterus affected by fibroids and advanced endometriosis.

After laparoscopic surgery to remove the fibroids and treat Stage IV endometriosis, her cycles became lighter, her pain eased, and her body finally had the chance to heal.

Fertility journeys are rarely straightforward. IVF with ICSI was the next step, and with a low egg count, just one egg was collected. One embryo. One chance.

And that one embryo became everything.

Today, she is a mother to a beautiful baby — a powerful reminder that even in the most complex journeys, hope can still quietly find its way through.

I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in our team, and for the opportunity to share this story in a way that fully respects privacy. Every path to parenthood is unique, and every one deserves to be met with patience, expertise, and compassion 🤍

Sometimes the hardest part of fertility treatment is learning to pause.

At the time, the disappointment was real. The hope of being pregnant felt so close.
But trusting the process, allowing the body the time it needed, and only proceeding under the right conditions mattered more than rushing ahead.

Two months later, the lining had thickened, the timing was right, and the first actual transfer was successful. 🤍

I had a an amazing chat with Edora on all things IVF and embryo screening. I will be sharing the full chat later in the week.

Of all the conversations I have with women, miscarriage remains one of the most painful and least spoken about. It is far more common than many realise, yet so often experienced in silence. Many women carry an overwhelming sense of guilt or self-blame, questioning what they did wrong — when in truth, most miscarriages are completely outside of anyone’s control.

The most common reason for miscarriage is a spontaneous chromosomal abnormality. This occurs when an egg is fertilised by a s***m and the early cell divisions are abnormal, meaning the pregnancy cannot continue. This is not caused by stress, lifestyle, or something you did or didn’t do.

There are other factors that can contribute to miscarriage, and these are important because many are treatable. Structural issues within the uterus, such as polyps, can interfere with implantation. Hormonal imbalances and conditions like thyroid disease can also play a role in early pregnancy loss. Careful investigation and personalised care can make a significant difference.

If you have experienced loss, please know there are answers and there is hope. You are not alone. I am always here to offer guidance, support, and compassionate care as you navigate this journey forward 🤍

The beautiful is embarking on a journey to raise awareness about this heartbreaking event. For our full chat watch via my YouTube available in

As this year comes to a close, I want to pause and say thank you.

To every woman and every family who has trusted me with something so deeply personal — your health, your hopes, your fertility journey — thank you for allowing me into your lives. It is a privilege I never take lightly, and I am continually humbled by your courage, resilience and trust.

To the incredible women who chose to share their stories openly — your voices matter. By speaking up, you empower others to ask questions, seek answers, and take ownership of their health. Your honesty creates change, connection and hope, and I am so grateful to you.

And to my extraordinary team — the remarkable women I work alongside across Bondi Junction, Sydney CBD and Kogarah, as well as the dedicated staff in the hospitals where I practise — I simply could not do this work without you. Your compassion, skill, dedication and care for our patients inspire me every single day.

Thank you all for being part of this journey.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year 🤍

Some conversations stay with you long after they’re over — and this was one of them.

In this Couch Conversation, I sat with the beautiful and incredibly brave Chloe Austron, who opened her heart to share her journey through miscarriage and the deep, often silent grief that comes with it.

We spoke about the emotional toll, the isolation so many feel, and the strength it takes to keep moving forward when your world feels shattered. Chloe’s courage in telling her story is extraordinary — and it’s that same compassion and lived experience that inspired her to create The Little Ones Lost, a beautiful support space for individuals and families navigating one of the most heartbreaking moments of their lives.

I am so deeply proud of her, and so grateful for the honesty and hope she brings to this conversation.
