Counting Seashells - Sleep and Wellbeing TestimonialSleep school has totally changed my life. It is also home to the Bondi Sleep School.

Counting Seashells is a one stop shop for all things sleep related with the mission being to help people learn to sleep better naturally, manage stress levels and generally improve one’s overall health and well being. The counting seashells website is currently being transformed (watch this space) into a blogging platform full of articles about sleep and insomnia, including product reviews, natural sleep aid suggestions and products to purchase designed to improve sleep. Outside of the website, Tristian divides her time between:
* sleep workshops at Bondi Sleep School,
* corporate wellness programs aimed at helping busy executives manage stress, find better sleep, improved nutrition not to mention find increased productivity
* health and wellness branding/marketing - drawing from her past experience as copywriter/advertising creative/branding expert

Counting Seashells was created after Tristian spent many years struggling with her own chronic sleep disorder. After successfully treating what she was told she would just have to live with and after 20 years of research, Tristian has developed a unique program to help combat insomnia now available as an eBook from leading e book sellers) and has made it her mission to promote good sleep. As a passionate foodie, qualified naturopath/nutritionist and firm believer in food as medicine, Tristian also advocates healthy eating as part of her strategy to beat stress and find better sleep and energy levels. Tristian draws on her experience as both naturopath and advertising copywriter and combines her two very different skill sets into one unique business.

Just been on a work trip to visit our lemon myrtle farm. This was a house up the road from it. (and when i say up the road , being remote it was probably 20k away!) It sums up how i feel about my new job and i just had to stop my car and take a snapshot.

If insomnia was simply a matter of being able to count, we would have solved the problem long ago. The reality is far more complex. Insomnia is a chronic condition that can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, anxiety and medications. So while counting sheep may work for some people, for those with insomnia, it's just another reminder of how powerless we feel to get a good night's sleep. The reality is that for many, counting sheep is about as effective as trying to fall asleep on a bed of nails.

I couldn't have said it better myself sister :) Even back in the day, the importance of a good night sleep was up there and the consequences of a troubled mind well known. Same still applies today. Even more so with the distractions of computer screens and artificial blue lighting. Daily meditation is one way to ensure your mind is not "ruffled".

Seems that more and more hotels are jumping on the bandwagon of sleep. I love this program. It's similar to the ones I've created in the past. It never made sense to me that to stay in a hotel, you'd have to pack ear plugs and masks and even sleeping pills to knock you out in the case of outside noise or uncomfortable beds. Rosewood Hotels and Resorts have taken sleep to the next level and curated different sleep programs at their various luxury destinations. Called the Alchemy of Sleep, they are designed to reset your sleep pattern and help you find the sleep of your life. From incredible spa treatments, in room sleep gift boxes, super comfortable temperature controlled beds and foods designed to help your circadian rhythm get back into synch, all in a luxury environment.
