To our valued Bunderra community,

The Carinity Fassifern Community Centre has heard your feedback about the decision to limit building access to the main entrance only.

We are sorry if this decision to close the side access made anyone feel unwelcome, as that was certainly not our intention.

There are a number of SAFETY reasons why we need all visitors (including support staff) to enter Fassifern from the main entrance:

🔥 To comply with workplace health and safety procedures, it’s important that everyone signs in and out of the visitor register at reception. This allows us to account for everyone in the case of fire or emergency evacuation.

🐍 There has been an increase in snake sightings around the centre, particularly near the side access. To keep the community safe, we want you to avoid the risk of snake encounters by sticking to the main path.

🚫 Our staff have sited security concerns with contractors entering via the side access and inadvertently wandering through the staff only areas of the centre. The staff offices may contain confidential information relating to the community members that we serve and it’s therefore important to limit foot traffic through this area.

We hope this information helps to clarify our decision for making this safety change.

Your support is so very appreciated, and we look forward to warmly welcoming you back to the community centre!
