Today, Metro North Health hosted the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Equity Showcase. This event is a valuable opportunity to share the services that are available to the indigenous community in the Brisbane North Area.

Lisa, from our Community Services Team, along with Natalie and Giovanna, from our Commercial Team, were able to share information with community members and QLD Health staff while learning so much about the programs available to our local Community. Events like the Health Equity Showcase are a valuable opportunity for us to connect with the people and the communities we serve.

For 100 years, St John Youth programs across Australia have equipped young people with life-saving first aid skills, leadership opportunities, community service experience, and lifelong friendships. Here in Queensland, our Youth members continue to inspire us with their passion, curiosity, and commitment to helping others.

At our recent Investiture Ceremony, we were proud to celebrate not only our Youth members but also the dedicated staff and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to rebuild and strengthen the Youth Program in Queensland, ensuring its sustainability and success for generations to come.

Our Youth Program provides practical skills, confidence-building experiences, and a fun, supportive environment where young people can grow, connect, and lead. It also serves as a valuable pathway for those interested in future health and community service careers.

To all past and present Youth members, leaders, and volunteers: thank you. Your enthusiasm, dedication, and community spirit continue to shape the next generation of volunteers, healthcare providers, community champions, and St John leaders.
