Just like bees work tirelessly for the hive, your liver works tirelessly for you. 🥹 🐝
Your liver performs over 500 functions including manufacturing, storing and processing everything you put in your body.
For Liver Cancer Awareness Month, give it the care it deserves. 💚
Easy ways to keep your liver healthy are to eat well, exercise, limit alcohol, and avoid smoking or va**ng.
Healthy habits go a long way, but protecting your liver also means being aware of hepatitis B and C, the leading causes of liver cancer. Millions remain undiagnosed, but both infections can be prevented, treated, or cured with the right care.
➡️ Hepatitis B
Spreads through blood and body fluids (like unsterilised needles or s*xual contact). Many people don’t notice symptoms, but it can cause yellowing of the skin and eyes, dark urine, and fatigue. Vaccination and treatment can protect your liver.
➡️ Hepatitis C
Spreads through blood (often via shared drug needles or tattooing equipment). Symptoms may take years to appear, but can include aches, fever, fatigue and sleep issues. There is no vaccine, but it is curable and can be prevented.
Early detection is the key to reducing the risk of liver cancer. Get vaccinated for hepatitis B, treat any infections and avoid risky behaviours like sharing needles or unprotected s*x to help your liver!
Protect your hardworking liver with testing, vaccination, and treatment. 🐝
