Commencing 10th October 2022, Dr Mary Lumsden from Bothwell Doctors will be extending opening days at the Medical Centre, 13 – 17 Patrick Street in Bothwell. Dr Lumsden has secured the services of additional GPs, enabling Bothwell Doctors to accept new patients from the Central Highlands, in particular those people who have had difficulty accessing a GP since the closure of the Ouse service in mid-April 2022. With THS support the intention is for Bothwell Doctors to support a limited service from the Central Highlands Community Health Centre at Ouse, subject to operational capacity, from early 2023. Dr Mary Lumsden has a significant interest in the health and well-being of rural and remote communities and after discussions with all relevant parties including the Central Highlands Council, previous GP operators and other Community groups, is supporting an interim solution to support the health care needs of the Central Highlands Community and has offered to participate in broader discussions with other stakeholders on a longer-term solution. Bothwell Doctors is a mixed billing practice. Patients without a concession card between the ages of 16-64 will be charged an out-of-pocket fee. Patients 15 and under, 65 and over, or residents in the Central Highlands Council area with a concession/pension card will be bulk billed at the Doctors DISCRETION, otherwise billed at the discounted rated. Patients with a concession card but living outside the Central Highlands Council area will be charged a reduced out of pocket fee. Medical Records
All medical records will be transferred from Moreton Group Rural Health – Ouse, to Bothwell Doctors to facilitate continuity of care. Patients who do not wish to have their medical record transferred to Bothwell Doctors can opt out before 5pm on Friday 16th September. To do this, please contact Moreton Group via email: ouse@moreton.com.au and request that your medical record be omitted from the transfer. To confirm the above, patients must contact Moreton Group before 5pm on Friday 16th September if they wish to opt out, otherwise their medical records will be transferred to Bothwell Doctors.
