We are still open! Albeit with reduce hours. At remedy+run we have taken every precaution to protect our patients and personal health, closely adhering to infection control protocols and cleaning regimes. Online bookings are still available, however, please be aware these appointments will be confirmed via phone the day before - if you cannot be reached the appointment will be rescheduled. On a happier note, Hugh Maclean arrived safely in late April and as such Steph has commenced mat leave. Adam Lyubicic is standing in her stead, putting his excellent podiatry skills to good use! ••••••

A little less worry, a lot more common sense is what we need - I thought this was the best tip I’ve seen. Remember wash your hands, don’t cough on people and if you are feeling poorly please call before coming to see your local friendly podiatrist. And please for the love of all that is good don’t take your information from facebook, call the National Hotline on 1800 020 080 or visit health.gov.au

Pregnancy and feet.
You’ve probably heard it all before: your feet will double in size; your feet will be swollen beyond recognition; daily foot massages are a must...well that one is rather nice.
As with anything to do with pregnancy - it’s all very individual!
There are however something’s you can do to look after your tootsies whilst brewing a small human - the biggest one: wear the right shoes.
For advice on looking after the feet when pregnant (even if you can no long we see them) come see Steph at our clinic. She also does an ace foot massage 😉.

Plantar fasciitis, heel spurs (😣), policeman’s heel. Whatever you call it hurts. Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the fascia primarily at its attachment to the calcaneus (heel bone), and it’s one of the most common foot complaints.
Unfortunately it’s a structure easily injured, is slow to heal, and rather uncomfortable.
The good news is a podiatrist can help, there is no one quick fix (no matter what the internet tells you), but Steph can help. She can work with you offload the injury, reduce inflammation and prevent reinjury by improving foot function.
So come in! Let’s get you moving again

Wise words. I’m currently reading ‘The Moment of Lift’ by Melinda. It’s a refreshing take on feminism, making meaningful change, and breaking hierarchy and embracing equal partnership - cannot recommend highly enough.

Strapping. A very useful tool in both podiatry and physiotherapy. Podiatrist’s use strapping to offload injuries and provide comfort, as well as test for orthotics and footwear modifications.
It can also be applied to help clear bruising and reduce swelling.
Our podiatrist Steph is able to asses the best strapping for you, having specialist training in kinesiotaping, as well as traditional techniques. (And don’t worry if you have allergies, she has plenty of options)

Have you heard of a MediPedi?
Steph can trim your toenails, help prevent (or treat!) ingrown nails, and remove the hard, dry skin. A little different from your standard pedicure, with a medipedi we can be a lot more precise regarding the shape of the nails and removal of corns or callus; and all done with sterile instruments.
