What an absolutely perfect day! Nothing beats the smell of a BBQ mixed with salty sea air. Huge shoutout and massive thanks to Rob and Hana for hosting an incredible afternoon feast at the beach! 🏄🎉 The food was delicious, the company was great, and those sunset views were unbelievable. Our residents from the Hibiscus 🌺 and Jacaranda 💜 Memory Support Wings enjoyed a delightful morning tea with their cherished family and friends at Murroona Cafe. 😋🧁🫖☕

🌟 Heartwarming Connections with our Care Community🌟
We've been absolutely delighted to host Year 10 students from Bowen State High School as part of their Community Engagement Project! 🤝
The students have been regularly visiting our residents, and the genuine friendships that have blossomed have been a joy to witness. Our residents have thoroughly enjoyed sharing stories, passing on wisdom, and, most importantly, spending quality time and participating in activities with their new young friends.
This project has truly highlighted the power of intergenerational connection. It’s a wonderful experience for both the residents and the students enriching lives and strengthening community bonds! 🥰😘
A massive thank you to Bowen State High School for fostering such a valuable and beautiful program. We can't wait for their next visit! 💚🩷

As we approach Remembrance Day, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to two wonderful people, Carol Weekes and Annette Collison, for their beautiful handiwork.
Carol and Annette have lovingly crafted poppies for all of our Residents to wear. This thoughtful gesture ensures everyone can participate in the act of remembrance and honour the service and sacrifice of our Veterans.
Their time and dedication have created a personal and meaningful way for our community to say, "Lest We Forget." Thank you, Carol and Annette, your kindness means so much!

Remembrance Day at Murroona
Today our Murroona Community came together to pause, reflect, and remember. 🌺
At 11am, our Residents and Staff observed a minute’s silence to honour the brave Men and Women who have served and those who continue to serve in defence of our nation.
We shared memories, laid poppies, and reflected on the courage, sacrifice, and resilience that have shaped our freedom today.

🏇 Melbourne Cup Fun 🥂
What a fabulous day celebrating the Melbourne Cup! Our Residents were in high spirits, starting the morning with a delightful morning tea featuring classic scones with jam and cream. 😋
The excitement throughout the day, waiting to watching "the race that stops a nation" together! We elevated the viewing experience with a lovely spread of wine, beer, and a delicious charcuterie board. 🧀🍇
The cheers were loud and the atmosphere electric, especially when a few of our residents' chosen horses crossed the finish line! Congratulations to our lucky winners who were absolutely thrilled with their success! 🎉
It's moments like these that make community life so special. A wonderful day of fun, food, and friendly rivalry! 😃

🎉 Celebrating 100 Remarkable Years! 🎉

A very special celebration took place this morning at Murroona Gardens, as we honoured George Elliot’s 100th Birthday! George was joined by close friends and his Home Care family for cake, smiles, kisses, and plenty of laughter.

Of course, no centenary celebration would be complete without letters from His Majesty The King and the Prime Minister of Australia, acknowledging this incredible milestone- a truly special touch for a truly special gentleman.

George continues to inspire us all- independent, gracious, and living happily at home at 100 years young. 💙

🌿 Support at Home Transition- No Need to Worry! 🌿

Tomorrow marks the official start of the new Support at Home program, and we want to reassure all our valued Home Care clients that there’s no cause for concern.

The transition will happen gradually, and you will continue to receive your usual services from Murroona Gardens without interruption.

✅ Our prices are set at the lower end of the Government’s suggested range and we aim to be the cheapest in town, but the best in care!
✅ You’ll have up to 90 days to review and sign your new agreement once you receive your letter from Services Australia.
✅ You can continue receiving your services as normal- nothing stops on 1 November.

So please don’t panic- we’re on top of it and here to support you every step of the way 💚

What a fantastic month it's been, showing appreciation for the amazing seniors in our community! 😍We were so lucky to fill the days with fun, friendship, and creativity. Here are some of our favourite highlights from the celebrations ✨
🎂 Happy Birthday Fun as we celebrated with cake, friends, and family! 🎲 Bingo was a lively game enjoyed with friends from Bolton Clarke and Murroona Home Care clients lots of laughs
🧶 Creative Corner with Crocheting and Knitting sessions were wonderfully relaxing, crafting beautiful pieces, and enjoying a good chat with friends.🍦 Seaside Drive was enjoyed with lovely Bus Drives to the beautiful beaches, complete with a refreshing ice cream stop!🧺 Mullers Lagoon Picnic taking in the fresh air and enjoying a lovely morning tea outdoors, A massive thank you to Ireen for opening her home to our residents for a very special visit! Your generosity is truly appreciated. ❤️ 👩‍🍳 Hibiscus and Jacaranda Residents got busy in the kitchen, making a delicious Vegetable Bake for lunch and a comforting Banana Cake for morning tea.
