🌸 Celebrating International Women’s Day – Murroona Gardens Style 🌸

Murroona Gardens was filled with music, friendship and celebration as we came together to honour International Women’s Day with a very special gathering.

Residents, team members and friends from across the community enjoyed a delightful musical soirée, sharing laughter, stories and songs that celebrated the strength, wisdom and spirit of the remarkable women in our care community.

We were so pleased to welcome our friends from Bolton Clarke, the COC Friendship Group, and many familiar faces from the wider Bowen community who joined us to mark the occasion together. Events like these remind us how powerful community connections can be.

A highlight of the afternoon was a beautiful Murroona Gardens poem, lovingly recited by Mary, which captured the warmth and heart of our care community and brought smiles all around the room.

A special thank you to the Bowen Quilters, who generously created the vibrant table runners especially for this event. Their craftsmanship added a wonderful splash of colour and warmth to the celebration.

At Murroona Gardens we are proud to celebrate the women who have shaped our families, our community and our world.

Our Men’s Business Morning Tea at Murroona Café was a wonderful time of mateship and storytelling ☕
We were delighted to welcome residents from Bolton Clarke - Vince, Noel and Joe who joined with family Peter, Matthew and our Murroona men for a relaxed and friendly catch up.
The morning was filled with great conversation, shared memories and plenty of laughter as the men swapped stories from years gone by. It’s always special to see friendships forming and connections growing over a cuppa and morning tea.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a lovely morning. We look forward to the next Men’s Business gathering at Murroona Café! 👏

Murroona Gardens Support at Home is expanding, and we’re on the lookout for an experienced Enrolled Nurse to join our Support at Home team on a casual basis!

As our Support at Home program continues to grow, so does our commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our treasured clients in the comfort of their own homes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work autonomously, build meaningful relationships, and truly make a difference in the lives of older people in our community.🫶🏻

✨ What we’re looking for:

An experienced Enrolled Nurse with current AHPRA registration
Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
A passion for person-centred care 💗
Excellent communication and time management skills
Confidence working independently in community settings

We had the pleasure of celebrating a special Birthday, surrounded by laughter, warm wishes, and the company of dear family and friends. It’s always so wonderful to see our residents feeling the love on their special day. 🎂💐
Alongside the celebrations, our days have been full of activity and connection. Residents have enjoyed:
🌿 Our Gardening Program getting hands in the soil and enjoying the sunshine
🎲 Table games filled with friendly competition and lots of smiles
🏐 Bocce matches bringing out great team spirit
🎈 Balloon tennis with plenty of laughter and movement
🚌 Bus drives out and about, followed by delicious ice cream treats
With so many family and friends visiting throughout the week, the atmosphere has been vibrant, social, and full of joy. It’s heartwarming to see everyone engaging, connecting, and making beautiful memories together.
Here’s to many more busy, happy days in our community! 💛

A big thank you to Dee for visiting our Care Community and sharing her wonderful pottery skills with us! 🏺✨
Our residents had such a lovely time getting hands-on with the clay, learning how to shape and create their very own pottery pieces. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and a few wonderfully messy hands along the way!
It was a fantastic opportunity for creativity, conversation, and trying something new. Activities like this provide not only enjoyment but also great sensory and social benefits for everyone involved.
Thank you, Dee, for your patience, encouragement, and for inspiring our residents to create something special with their own hands. We can’t wait to see the finished masterpieces! 💛

A heartfelt thank you to Gospel Choir members Ngaire, Lariesha and Maron for coming along today and sharing your beautiful music with us. 🎶
It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the social interaction, clapping along and participating in a joyful sing-along to the Gospel music. The smiles, laughter and uplifting atmosphere truly made the morning special for our residents.
We are so grateful for your time, talent and the happiness you bring into our home. 💛

Even with all this rain pouring down, there’s been no slowing down here at Murroona Gardens! ☔🌧️
While the weather has been grey outside, it’s been warm, bright and full of laughter indoors. Our Residents have been keeping busy with Celebrating Birthdays, Cooking, Bingo & Hoi, Friendship Group, Bocce, Music therapy, Exercise Angels, Family & Friends visiting with cuppas and great conversations. There’s been plenty of smiles, friendly competition, and lots of stories shared while listening to the rain on the roof.
Rainy days are perfect for bringing everyone together and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing! From creative activities to social catch up, our community has been buzzing with connection and community spirit. 💛
A little rain won’t stop the fun at Murroona Gardens! 🌈

🍻 Celebrating the Wonderful Men in Our Care Community 🍻
There’s something special about mates coming together sharing stories, laughter, and a good meal.
This week, the gentlemen in our Care Community enjoyed a relaxed lunch together, complete with a cold beer and plenty of great conversation. It was wonderful to see friendships growing, memories being shared, and smiles all around.
Moments like these are what community is all about connection, camaraderie, and enjoying the simple pleasures in life. 💙
We are so proud to support opportunities where our men can gather, reminisce, and strengthen those important social bonds.

We felt the love at Murroona Gardens this Valentine’s Day! 💕 Our Residents enjoyed a beautiful morning filled with music, laughter, and wonderful company as we celebrated together.
A huge thank you to Bluetones Choir for providing such fantastic entertainment. The music had everyone smiling, tapping along, and sharing special memories. It was heartwarming to see so much joy in the room and to celebrate friendship and connection with our Murroona family.

We loved joining the wonderful community ladies for the Friendship Group at COC Church 💕
Our residents had such a beautiful time-sharing stories, laughter, and companionship. It’s always so special to connect with the wider community and build meaningful friendships. Thank you to everyone at COC Church for welcoming us so warmly we truly value these moments together.
We’re already looking forward to the next visit! 🌸

Germs didn’t stand a chance this week! 🦠🚫

Our team rolled up their sleeves for Infection Control Education and Training, sharpening their skills in hand hygiene, PPE and all things prevention.🤲🏻😷

There may have been a few laughs, some competitive handwashing moments… but behind the fun was a serious commitment to keeping our residents and each other safe. ✊🏻
