It takes less than 10 seconds to notice the habits that may be quietly loading your spine each day.

Here are 5 quick posture checks:

🔹High Heels Check
✦ Wearing heels for long hours daily?
✦ Heels shift your centre of gravity forward, increase the lower back curve, tighten calves, and strain hips and spine.
♡ Alternate heel height during the week.
♡ Stretch calves after wearing heels.

🔹 Handbag Weight Check
✦ Always carrying your bag on one shoulder?
✦ An uneven load causes one shoulder to lift, building neck and upper back tension.
♡ Switch sides regularly or use a crossbody bag.

🔹 Carrying Kids on One Hip
✦ Holding your child on the same side every time?
✦ Pelvic tilt and side-bending strain can lead to lower back tightness.
♡ Alternate sides and gently engage your core before lifting.

🔹 Stress Posture Check
✦ Are your shoulders creeping toward your ears during busy days?
✦ Chronic upper trapezius tension can contribute to headaches and fatigue.
♡ Deep breath. Drop shoulders. Lengthen your spine.

🔹 Phone Scroll Before Bed
✦ Scrolling in bed with your neck bent forward?
✦ Neck strain and disrupted sleep signals can follow.
♡ Bring your phone to eye level or reduce screen time before sleep.

Small habits. Repeated daily. Big impact over time. 💙

If you’re noticing persistent tension or discomfort, it may be time for a posture and spinal check.

After our recent nutrition workshop, one theme stood out:

✨Energy isn’t just about what you eat.
It’s also about how your body stabilises.

Low energy is not always a fitness issue. Sometimes, it is a stability issue.

Your core is designed for endurance, providing subtle and sustained support throughout the day. When that endurance is lacking:

→ Posture begins to collapse
→ Surrounding muscles overcompensate
→ Neck and shoulders carry extra load
→ Fatigue builds faster than it should

The body becomes inefficient. You may not be unfit. You may simply be compensating.

As we discussed in the workshop, nutrition plays a powerful role here as well. 🥗

Without consistent fuel, adequate protein, balanced blood sugar, and proper hydration, muscles and stabilisers fatigue more quickly. When fuel is low, energy drops sooner and recovery slows.

🔁 This is where structure and nutrition intersect.

Chiropractic care supports spinal mobility and healthy nervous system function, helping your body coordinate stability more efficiently. When the spine moves well and the body is properly fuelled, energy becomes more sustainable.

If you’re still feeling that dip in energy, it may be time to take a closer look at both your stability and the support around you. 💙

Women are masters of the "mental load," but your nervous system isn't designed to be "on" 24/7. When you're constantly juggling roles, your body enters a state of Allostatic Load — the physical wear and tear that happens when stress becomes your baseline.

This isn't just "feeling busy"; it’s a biological survival shift. Your Sympathetic Nervous System (the autonomic nervous system that triggers the "fight-or-flight" response) gets stuck down, which is why you might feel:

✦ Muscle Armor: Tension in your neck and shoulders as your body prepares for a threat.

✦ System Lag: Bloating or digestive changes because your body is deprioritizing rest and digest functions.

✦ Wired but Tired: Sleep stays light because your brain is scanning for the next task.
Chiropractic care isn't just about your back; it’s also about your brain. 🧠

By improving spinal mobility, we help dampen that high-alert signal, making it easier for your body to switch into a calm and resilient state. This is where your hormones balance, your muscles relax, and your energy recovers.

Stop just "pushing through”. It’s time to give your nervous system the reset it deserves.

Being a chiropractor means caring for others all day. But great care starts with taking care of yourself first.

This is a little glimpse into a day in the life of Dr Izzy. 💙

The day begins before sunrise with hydration, gentle movement, and a quiet moment of reflection. A few grounding rituals in the morning help create the energy needed to support a full day in practice.

From early adjustments to team meetings, patient care, reports, and evening sessions, the schedule is full. Yet small habits throughout the day help maintain balance and wellbeing.

As we celebrate Women’s Health this March, this is also a reminder that many women in healthcare, business, and leadership roles are balancing a lot behind the scenes. Taking care of your own health and energy is what makes it possible to show up for others. 🌈

A healthy routine creates the foundation for a healthy life.

And sometimes that routine simply starts with a glass of water, a stretch, and watching the sunrise.

Thank you, Dr Izzy .chiro , for sharing your day with us. 🌅

Stress eating is rarely about a lack of discipline. It is often the body trying to self-soothe.

When the nervous system feels overwhelmed, it looks for relief. Food — especially highly palatable, quick comfort foods — can temporarily calm stress pathways in the brain. For a moment, it feels regulating.

But when stress becomes chronic, this pattern can repeat and may:
→ Disrupt digestion
→ Slow gut motility
→ Increase bloating or discomfort
→ Impact sleep and recovery
→ Build muscular tension through the neck and shoulders

The key is not more restriction. It is better regulation.

Instead of responding with guilt, shift the focus to regulation.
✔ Slow, steady breathing
✔ Gentle movement
✔ Proper hydration
✔ Consistent, balanced nourishment

Chiropractic care focuses on supporting healthy nervous system function through spinal care. By improving spinal mobility and reducing mechanical stress, the body may shift more easily from a heightened stress response into a more regulated, restorative state. When the nervous system is calmer, stress-driven eating patterns often become easier to manage.

That is why we are excited to be collaborating with clinical nutritionist Melanie Lansdown, who brings a practical, evidence-informed approach to supporting hormones, energy, and sustainable nutrition habits.

Ever notice how sugar cravings increase when stress levels rise? That is not just willpower. It is physiology.

When we are under chronic stress, the body shifts into fight or flight mode. Stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline rise to keep us alert. While helpful short term, staying in this state increases the demand for quick energy.

Sugar becomes the fastest fuel source.

Over time this stress and sugar cycle may contribute to:
❌ Blood sugar spikes and crashes
❌ Increased inflammation
❌ Energy dips and fatigue
❌ Disrupted sleep
❌ Stronger cravings

Breaking the cycle starts with regulating the nervous system and fuelling the body intentionally.

That is why we are excited to introduce Melanie Lansdown, our collaborating clinical nutritionist, who is passionate about helping individuals build practical, sustainable nutrition habits that support energy, hormone balance, and long term wellbeing.

As part of our March focus on women’s health, let’s talk about the subtle signs the body often sends before something feels “serious.”

Too often, women push through discomfort while balancing work, family, and daily responsibilities. But recurring symptoms are not random. They are signals.

Here are a few red flags worth paying attention to:

🔺 Recurring neck or back discomfort
Ongoing tension or pain may indicate sustained stress, postural strain, or reduced spinal mobility affecting how the nervous system regulates the body.

🔺 Persistent fatigue
Constant tiredness, even after rest, may be linked to chronic stress load, poor sleep quality, or nervous system overload.

🔺 Morning stiffness or reduced mobility
Waking up stiff regularly can reflect joint restriction, muscular tension, or recovery challenges.

When these patterns repeat, it may be a sign the body is stuck in a prolonged stress response. The nervous system plays a central role in regulating energy, sleep, muscle tone, and resilience.

Chiropractic care focuses on assessing and improving spinal function to support healthier nervous system communication. By addressing joint restrictions, reducing mechanical stress, and improving mobility, chiropractic care may help ease tension, enhance recovery, and support better regulation of stress and energy levels.

Listening to the body is not a weakness. It is wisdom. 💞

If something feels off, do not ignore it. We are here to support you.

Exciting news: We’re hosting a nutrition workshop to help you thrive through midlife! 🎉

We are thrilled to collaborate with clinical nutritionist Melanie Lansdown for an exclusive community event - Strong in Midlife: Supporting Hormones, Energy and Bone Health Through Nutrition ✨

Midlife isn’t about decline; it’s about adapting wisely. Whether you’re navigating perimenopause or menopause, this 30-minute session offers practical strategies to support your hormones, energy, and bone health.

Why Chiropractic Care + Nutrition?

True healing requires a two-pronged approach. While chiropractic care optimises spinal function and nervous system communication, nutrition provides the literal building blocks for repair.

When we combine them, we tackle health from the inside out:

✷ Reduced Inflammation
Diet plays a key role in inflammatory processes. A nutrient-dense, balanced approach may help reduce systemic inflammation that can affect joints, muscles, and overall recovery.

✷ Faster Recovery
While spinal care improves mobility and nervous system communication, adequate protein, healthy fats, and essential micronutrients support tissue repair and muscle recovery.

✷ Better Energy & Focus
Stable blood sugar and gut health influence energy levels, concentration, and resilience to stress. A well-nourished body adapts better to care.

How old is your balance… really? 👀

There is a simple way to estimate your “balance age”, and Dr Izzy put hers to the test. Result? Almost 30 seconds strong 🔥

This test helps determine your functional age based on balance and core stability. The stronger and more stable you are, the longer you can hold it.

This is your reminder that core strength is not just about workouts. It is about stability, control and how confidently your body supports you every single day.

Want to try it?
➡️ Stand tall
➡️ Cross your arms over your chest
➡️ Close your eyes
➡️ Lift one leg off the ground
➡️ No shoes

Now it is your turn. Start your timer and see how long you last.

Grab a friend. Hit record. Try the balance test together and see who lasts longer 💪🏼

Drop a comment below with how long you can stay balanced. Don’t forget to tag us in your videos so we can see your results. 💙

As we celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March, we begin our March focus on women’s health by looking at where it all connects… the nervous system.

The nervous system coordinates communication between the brain, hormones, and organs. When it is under constant stress, the body may prioritise survival over balance. This can influence menstrual cycles, sleep quality, energy levels, mood, and even digestion.

Spinal health plays an important role because the spine protects the spinal cord, the main pathway for these signals. Restricted movement, persistent muscle tension, and prolonged stress can contribute to nervous system overload.

Chiropractic care focuses on optimising spinal function to support clearer communication between the brain and body, helping maintain a well regulated nervous system.

Here is how supporting spinal and nervous system health may help:

♡ Hormonal balance
Chronic stress elevates cortisol, which can disrupt reproductive hormone patterns. Supporting stress regulation helps the body maintain better internal balance.

♡ Stress regulation
Healthy movement, spinal care, and diaphragmatic breathing encourage a shift toward a more regulated and calm state.

♡ Sleep quality
When the nervous system feels safe and regulated, it is easier to fall asleep and stay asleep, allowing proper hormonal repair cycles overnight.

Simple daily steps:
☀︎ Maintain upright, supported posture
☀︎ Take movement breaks every 30 to 60 minutes
☀︎ Practice slow nasal breathing with longer exhales
☀︎ Seek professional spinal assessment if discomfort persists

Women’s health is not just about symptoms. It is about supporting the system that coordinates it all.

This March, let us empower women from the inside out 💞If you want a personalised care plan, call us on 0411 735 741 or book via the link in bio!
