Here’s an oldie I forgot to post! 🥹:
A reminder that you and your house do not have to look a certain way to be worthy of having some type of “practice”.
I’m 2 months postpartum with my 2nd child after a tough pregnancy and I feel like I’m now starting to regain some trust and strength with my body; I tripped over yesterday and scrapped my knees, so they are sore and have limited my movement; I have a toddler who requires my attention and leaves toys and food everywhere, she also likes to join me halfway through and tells me what we “should” be doing; I only have short moments throughout my days where I can put my baby down before he is tired, hungry and needs comfort.
After my first child’s birth, I found it really difficult to adjust to this new way of interrupted time. I was no longer able to start my day with uninterrupted meditation and pranayama, and an hour of asana, either at home or at a studio.
I have now learnt how to be savvy with the small pockets of time that present themselves throughout my day where I can sit still for 5 minutes or roll out my mat. It takes a level of surrender and the ability to not have expectations. If I waiting for things to be “perfect” then I would never find time for these moments for myself.
