If you’re curious about kinesiology, this is a gentle insight into what your session may look like.

A Kinesiology session is an opportunity to learn more about yourself and your conscious and unconscious patterns that sabotage what you really want to experience and achieve. Not only that, it allows you to live your life more consciously, and overcome the inner obstacles to health, harmony and living in alignment with your soul’s purpose.

If you’re ready to reconnect with your body’s innate wisdom, you’re warmly welcome here 💛
Save this for later or reach out if you have questions.

Happy gut, happy body, 30 plus plant challenge

Another hot tip for increasing the amount of plant foods in your week to boost your gut health. Add herbs at every meal.

I have fresh herbs on my deck where we have our meals. This is a good prompt for me to throw some extra plant material onto the plate.

Here are my hot tips for incorporating herbs into your meal routines:

Garnish your fruit salad with mint
Garnish your salad with a sprig of thyme
Finely chop rosemary and add to your salad
Garnish your rice dishes with fresh coriander
Throw some parsley into your sandwich or on your toast
Cook your beef or lamb steaks with oregano and rosemary
Add some fresh tarragon to your fish dish
Throw some chopped chives onto your chicken or into your burgers
Add sage leaves to your roast veggies

Happy gut, Happy body, 30 plus plant challenge

Another great recipe to increase the variety of plants in your diet. Beans are a fantastic way of boosting your nutrients and fibre as well as the gut microbiome.

Posh beans
I used kidney beans here but you can use cannellini, berlotti, butter beans etc.

It is great if you can buy them in bulk and soak and cook yourself to avoid using tinned products. All legume beans are better digested when soaked overnight or for a minimum of 6 hours - rinsed then cooked well (at least 45 minutes), then rinsed again.

Method:
1. Cut up 1 onion or 1/2 a leek and crush 5 cloves of garlic and cook in 1/4 cup of coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil if cooking on low heat
2. Add:
1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
2 fresh or dried bay leaves
Chopped zucchini
Chopped tomatoes
3. Cook for a minute or 2 then add:
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
1 teaspoon of French mustard paste
1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon of molasses or coconut sugar
Cooked beans
600 mL of water
A few sprigs of Thyme

Simmer on low heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Turn the heat off and add a teaspoon of salt or salt to taste and extra fresh thyme to taste before serving. Serve with rice or sourdough toast.

9 more plants added to your week. Your welcome 😊

Happy gut, happy body 30 plus plant per week challenge:

Home made muesli bars are my favourite way of increasing the plant count.

I melt together on low heat about 2 heaped tablespoons of each:
coconut oil and peanut butter (almond butter is also great, especially if you can't tolerate peanuts)
Flavour to your taste by mixing in:
honey
sea salt
ground cardamon, cinnamon and allspice

Mix in toasted:
oats
pepitas
sunflower seeds
Brazil nuts (chopped)
cashews (chopped)
almond (chopped)

Mix in:
saltanas
activated buckwheat

Press the mixture into a tin, sprinkle and press into the mix dark chocolate chips.
Refrigerate until set.
Cut into bars and enjoy.

And pow! You have just added 13 plants to your 30 plus quota of plant foods to boost your gut health.

It is a well known fact now that gut health helps everything - brain function, hormones, mood, energy etc. Did you know that research now suggests that diversity of plant foods is the best pathway to gut health. Fun challenge - can you eat over 30 different plants per week?

This weekend I am going to share with you some of my favourite recipes and tips for increasing your plant intake.

Starting with this delicious chia peach pudding: It is great as a snack or a healthy dessert. It was also a handy breakfast for us when we were travelling and camping across the Nullarbor when we didn't have access to fresh fruit and veg (because they confiscate it at the border). We used tinned peaches in natural juices in that instance, yet the fresh ones are sooo good at the moment.

Simply soak add a dessert spoon of chia per person to 1/2 cup of water (or juice)
Mix and soak overnight or for an hour.
Add chopped peaches or any other fresh fruits in season.
Add 1 dessert spoon of flaxseed oil (makes it a yummy buttery flavour)
Sprinkle with a dash of ground cinnamon or cardamon.
Mix and enjoy.

There we go - 4 extra plants added to your week. Here are some tips for increasing that some more:
Make it a fruit salad pudding instead of peach pudding.
Add ground flaxseed or activated buckwheat for extra fibre and crunch.

Happy New Year Everyone! May this year be your best yet.

Here is a little New Year ritual to set your sails in the greatest direction for your year.

Grab your journal or pen and paper, find a spot in your home or garden that makes your heart sing and sit for a moment to write:

Make a list of all that you want to give thanks for. This will be energy well spent to attract more of that.

Also consider what makes you great and write it out.

These are important building blocks for your year ahead. Words have power and give you meaningful ingredients for setting your intentions for the coming year.

My word and focus for this year is True Power. What is yours?

We had another delightful camp over at the breakaways. I just love how this place makes me feel. The air smells sweet. The ground is soft to walk upon. The bird songs are so diverse and sweet. We had a pair of majestic hawks roost for the night above us at the moment we settled into our swag. The flowers are rare and interesting. The sense of connection here is heart warming.
