Community Alert: Historic Bell Stolen from St Ann’s Chapel 🚨

Dear Community,

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the theft of the historic bell from St Ann’s Chapel. This bell, blessed in a special ceremony in October 1866, holds immense historical significance for our community.

On that memorable day, a guard of honour of 50-60 horsemen, adorned with rosettes and sashes, rode out to meet Bishop Snell. Over a hundred men on foot then formed a procession to St Ann’s Chapel for the blessing of the bell. This treasured piece of our history has now been stolen, and we are heartbroken by this loss.

We urge anyone with information about the theft to come forward. Please contact the local authorities if you have seen or heard anything suspicious. Let’s come together to recover this irreplaceable piece of our heritage.

Due to a retirement within our team, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join us as a Fulltime Funeral Arranger/Conductor. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that families receive the highest level of care and support during their time of need.

The successful candidate will possess a caring and professional nature with excellent interpersonal skills and an empathetic approach when working with grieving families.

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

Hold a current driver's license and a valid police check.
Availability to work on an after-hours weekend roster, including night call-outs.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills
Ability to multitask effectively and thrive in a small team within a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrate honesty, reliability, physical fitness, and a professional appearance.
Good decision making and problem-solving skills
Accurate administration and intermediate IT skills
Standard office hours are Monday to Friday however due to the nature of the role, flexibility is also required to be able to provide a premium service to our families. Weekend on-call is a requirement with a 1 in 4 roster operating.

Prior experience is an advantage, however no prior experience is required with ongoing training and development provided.

The successful candidate will possess a caring and professional nature with excellent interpersonal skills and an empathetic approach when working with grieving families.

• Impeccable verbal and personal presentation
