Stress is a normal part of life, but ongoing or overwhelming stress can affect both your physical and mental health. Common signs of stress include feeling constantly tired, tense or irritable, having trouble sleeping, headaches, changes in appetite, or difficulty concentrating.
Simple ways to help manage stress include maintaining regular sleep, staying physically active, limiting caffeine and alcohol, taking short breaks, practising slow breathing, and staying connected with supportive people. Small changes can make a meaningful difference over time.
If stress is affecting your daily life, relationships or wellbeing, or if symptoms are persistent, it’s important to seek support. Your GP can help assess what’s going on, discuss coping strategies, and connect you with further support if needed. You don’t have to manage stress on your own.
Remember we also have Eastern Shore Psychology visiting on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday if you need additional support. To book with our visiting psychologists, please contact Eastern Shore Psychology on 03 6240 5442.
