You have probably heard of BMI, but do you actually know what it means?
Body Mass Index (BMI) is one of the most common tools doctors use to assess weight and health risk yet it is often misunderstood.

Our latest blog breaks it down in a clear, easy-to-understand way. You will learn how BMI works, what a healthy range looks like, why waist measurement matters and why your GP never relies on BMI alone.

If you are thinking about your weight, energy levels or long-term health, this is a great read to help you make sense of the numbers and focus on what really matters.

About Berkeley Medical Centre

Berkeley Medical Centre was created in 2016 by doctors Barbara Young and Madonna Collins. The two doctors studied science and medicine together at the University of Queensland and have been firm friends ever since.

The Berkeley approach is about proactive, rather than reactive medicine. We like to involve our patients in their own healthcare. We aim to keep our patients well educated about their conditions, their medications and treatments.

Our aim is to get you healthy and keep you healthy.
