We are seeking play based support for a 15 year old young man in Greater Melbourne (close to Taylors Hill / Delahey). He is nonverbal and uses Prolog. He has Autism and a moderate Intellectual Disability. He loves to dance, sing and cook. He is part of a very large loving and devoted family and he participates in martial arts with his family. We are looking for someone to engage him and assist in expanding his vocabulary. We are seeking 4 to 6 hours on Saturdays and school holidays, both in the home and when the family is conformable, in the community. Perhaps participating in a cooking class, as the home kitchen is the central hub of the home and needs to be accessible to his parents and many other siblings. The family feels a younger (under 35 years) may be a more suitable fit. Perhaps someone studying Speech Therapy or Occupational Therapy, while working as DSW, although do not let that discount your hands on experience. Kimmy was lost when Covid restrictions first hit and she missed community access so much. That's when we found Jack from Vision PT and he commenced 1:1 sessions with Kimmy and now they hit Jack's gym together.
