Are you being LAZY or are you being AVOIDANT?

I’ve had MANY people tell me that they’re too lazy to implement certain health principles . . . BUT after a little bit of digging, it is often avoidance!

Avoidance may be serving a part of the psyche while at the same time causing harm.

👉 EXAMPLE 1 - some people will tell me that they’re too lazy to prepare good quality food but after a little bit of digging it can often be that the junk food is serving a part of the psyche.

Junk food can provide a form of safe love that can cover up underlying emotions and thoughts that someone is not quite ready to deal with yet. I personally think support can really help break through this pattern.

👉 EXAMPLE 2 - I have worked with many clients that will work there butt off for an employer but when it comes to following their passion they will tell me that they are too lazy to implement anything. This is often a lot of doubt and fear playing out.

So are you being lazy or are you being avoidant in certain aspects in your life?

Can FASTING help with quick WEIGHT LOSS?

It’s one of the most common questions I get at the start of the year!

Short answer . . . Yes; but you have to be careful 🧐

When fasting, your body is more likely to release cortisol.

Chronically high cortisol can lead heart conditions, muscle weakness, mood swings, sleep issues and diabetes.

Fasting can be an excellent detoxification and healing tool but should only be performed if you feel it suits you individually and when you’re likely to have low stress day.

I personally think long term sustainable weight loss is best achieved by applying good health practices.

Have you ever considered performing a flat press on the swiss ball?

Some of the benefits are:

✅Increased core activation
✅Improved functional movement
✅Smaller stabiliser muscles are required to work harder

Some of the drawbacks may be:

👉Maximum force output may be less in the chest and shoulder compared to performing on the bench
👉Caution should be taken with any kind of back injury

The PLANK!

It can be a great exercise to activate the core, HOWEVER it does have its limitations. Some of which include:

❌ Reinforcing a poor posture if performed in a poor position
❌ Having limited functional carryover to everyday life

Performing the plank (and other core exercises) on a Swiss Ball can help:

✅ Better activate the core
✅ Improves reflexes
✅ Improves balance
✅ Strengthen stabiliser muscles

In this video, I demonstrate a moving plank of sorts (an exercise called the Forward Ball Roll) which integrates your core with the lower and upper body.

Hey Everyone,

A new study on the benefits of walking just came out and it showed:

Compared to 2,000 steps per day, 7,000 steps per day was associated with:

👉 47% lower risk of all cause mortality
👉 37% lower risk of cancer mortality
👉 38% lower risk of dementia
👉 22% lower risk of depression
👉 25% lower risk of heart disease
👉 14% lower risk of diabetes
