But here is what nobody tells you
about your nervous system
that has learned to turn itself back on
quickly, everytime..

it eventually forgets
how to turn itself off.

The vigilance that makes you
extraordinary at your work
becomes the thing
that follows you home.

Into your sleep.
Into your weekends.
Into the quiet moments
that should feel like rest
but somehow don't quite.

This is not weakness.

This is decades of devoted care which eventually
costs your body.

The Invisible Load a little less for a few!

Thankyou for sharing the space!

We felt with Cacao, we let go with yoga and then simply shared ideas, thoughts and suggestions around living life in midlife, through hormonal transition, the stress life throws at us and the sleep we miss at times!

This is what is all about!

I so get it, stepping out of our comfort zone makes as face our own lack! Our own discomfort in feeling we are not enough...

We dont look the same as the others... 😲

Its too hard, I will never be able to do this....

But what if you considered just for one moment, that the challenge placed in front of you was by your choosing.

By your desire.... 💕

To be better, look better, feel better.

That this stress is a good stress, not a bad one we all attempt to avoid!

Our bodies, our minds only expand through challenge.

Challenge in activity 🤔

Challenge in thought process

Challenge in our own boundaries which perhaps through fear, pain or anxiety we closed down because back then, it was too hard.

But today, is a different day!

A new day! Your body and soul needs to be challenged to function, to grow to heal. And with that does came discomfort.

But if it comes from a base of intention, a base of desire, of rest... then this is good stress!

Today my hot pilates barr class did feel like torture, the heat, the moves increasing my heart rate. But this is where my future lies at present. 💪

For my body to adjust over time to the heat, for my body to hold the strength it needs in the heat!

So I persist, hydrate and rest. Feeling for the next time I do the class again. Because I know overtime my body will adjust, that I dont need to push through the work. 🫶

But I do need to persist, I need to rest, hydrate and hold compassion for a body that is in midlife, no longer 20 something...

Love your thoughts, on the last time you did something as good stress, rather than from a place of lack - bad stress!

I had no idea how much I was holding...

until I tried to let go!

Not just physically, but emotionally, mentally... constantly

And when I finally stopped, even just for a moment.... I realised my body didnt know how to relax anymore.

Not because something was wrong but rather I had been carrying so much for so long,
in my heart
my mind
my soul, that I see in other women everyday.

High functioning
Very capable
Running teams and households
Holding it all together!

But underneath it all.....
Is a nervous system that hasn't the space to soften

Restorative yoga isn't about doing more, stretching harder...

Its about creating a moments where your body feels safe, feels held, to let go

And when that finally happens....

Everything begins to shift!

Give it a go, if you ever get the chance..

With someone who will hold you, allow you to breath, even just for a moment!
