Hello Instagram friends! It's been a while, and I have a big announcement for you! With both joy and some grief I want to share that I am relocating to Brisbane, Australia. The move is motivated by some changes in my business and to be closer to my husband's family. I am so grateful for all the connections I have made in the local birth world here in Seattle, who have made me the doula that I am today. I am so thrilled to get to explore and be a part of this field in a new community.

Pregnancy and birth can be joyful and beautiful. They can also be traumatic and deadly.
I have a pretty well informed position on the issue of abortion /healthcare rights for people with wombs as a licensed Physician Assistant, certified Birth Doula, and midwifery assistant in training. At this time I’m choosing to take the “fight” away from online platforms and into my hands by continuing to support birthing families who are growing by choice and also by deepening my skillset for supporting clients through abortions ESPECIALLY now that WA state is likely to become a safer haven for people in need of life saving and sanity preserving treatment.

That sweet first gaze into your child’s eyes 💕🌸 nothing like it!!

The last 5 days were a little WILD for this doula! 2 in person birth supports, 1 virtual support, 1 home birth as a trainee birth assistant, and 2 postpartum shifts. One of the most unique aspects of doula life is just how different a work week can be to the next… I sure do love it, keeps me on my toes!
And now - commence alllll the naps 😅

Family gift bags 💝Josie and I just finished a project we’ve been dreaming up for a few months - little gifts for our dear clients! In there we’ve got a labor comb, hand made herbal sitz bath baggies, lactation cookie recipe, milk storage guidelines magnet, and a few other things. And eucalyptus of course because I never miss a chance to get that heavenly scent everywhere I can 🌿 We are so excited to treat our families!

Truly incredible to witness someone harness their power and believe they can give themselves the redeeming birth they wished for.

Today was my first time providing birth doula support at only days after taking the Birth Assistant hands-on course from at PSBC! What a gorgeous, welcoming space they have built there.
Something tells me this won’t be the last baby of the week, so this doula is off to a long nap!!

This doula is BACK after 6 weeks off call to visit family and get married 🎉 I ran straight to for our day trip + intention setting retreat for 2022. We have some beautiful families expecting in the next few months and are so excited for what this year holds!! I’m looking forward to connecting with my doula pals in the coming weeks ♥️ let’s make this year a wholesome, intentional, and interconnected one - the world needs it more than ever.

In deep gratitude for the lessons this year brought about… And, waiting to see if this next baby will be #40 for 2021 or #1 for 2022!! Never a dull moment when you are a doula on-call for the holidays 😍
There are too many people, colleagues, mentors, families I am thankful for this year to tag them all. Doula work is soul work for me, and as such it is rewarding as it is challenging, it is empowering as it is heavy, and it exposes me to the best in humans and also to the big failures of the system we are all plugged into. I’ll be taking some quiet time in the next few months to reflect, journal, and meditate on the highs and lows of the wild ride that is birth work.
I am SO excited to share with you all some new projects and goals for next year soon!!! In the meantime, joyful holidays days to you; be kind & stay warm. I love you!!

I stepped out of my postpartum shift today leaving behind a sleeping baby and falafel bowls for the grown ups 💪🏽💪🏽 parents work so hard to meet their newborn's every need, it feels so good to be able to meet some of theirs. Nutrition is such a key part of recovering from birth!

*I release control, I surrender to the flow* ✨ mantras, affirmations, prayers, all expressions of our deepest desires made whispers and songs. Hot water during labor can be such a powerful way to not only soothe the birthing body but channel the energy of these desires! Add some LED candles and a drop of my essential oil blend and 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Wow! The lovely wrote on my last post hoping she would be up next... her baby politely obliged and we celebrated his arrival early this morning 😍 what a considerate little babe! This was a beautiful, powerful hypnobirth and it just *doesn't* get any better than doula-ing your closest friends. I'm feeling the gratitude today!!!

Nothing like feeling those tiny hands wrap around your fingers for the first time ❤️ What a powerful experience for this family, especially the moment dad got to receive his daughter and place her on her mother's chest.

Finding time to connect with other birth workers can be so hard!! After having to postpone twice when babies decided to make their appearance, we were finally able to sit down together for a cup of tea. Anybody want to guess what we talked about?.... YEP, birth!!
It's so important to stay connected to others doing this very important and very intense work. I'm very grateful to have these two lovely humans in this journey!

I *adore* spending postpartum time with my birth clients. There is something so nourishing about getting to unpack the birth journey we went through and processing the first days and weeks of parenting, then doing some laundry and caring for baby while parents take a well earned nap. This little angel sure makes it look easy!
