🌍 World Pressure Injury Prevention Day 🌍
Pressure injury prevention is never about one product, one surface, or one step. It’s about seeing the whole picture and making every surface count.
Mattresses lay the foundation for effective pressure care, but the foundation alone isn’t enough. The right support surface should adapt to a resident’s changing needs, maintain comfort and stability, and integrate seamlessly with mobility routines to reduce friction and shear.
Cushions are equally critical. Many residents spend as much time seated as lying down, and small issues, such as a missing cover, uneven air cells, or a poor setup, can quickly compromise skin integrity. Every seated moment should be backed by a cushion that performs consistently throughout the day.
Care Chairs complete the system. For residents with limited mobility, prolonged chair time is inevitable. A well-designed care chair supports posture, redistributes pressure, and helps reduce the risks associated with long sitting periods.
True prevention happens when all elements work together: equipment, education, and care processes aligned with one shared goal - preserving residents’ comfort, safety, and dignity.
Pressure care is a system, and when every surface is part of the solution, prevention becomes proactive. View more now ➡️ https://ap1.hubs.ly/y0psDV0
