🌟 Top Exercises for a Sore Back 🌟
Hey everyone! This past month has been brutal on my back muscles, spine and posture.🤕 Here are some of the best exercises I've found that depending on your circumstances can help alleviate a little pain while strengthening your back muscles:
Cat-Cow Stretch 🐱🐮
On all fours, slowly raise the spine like a scared cat and then slowly lower the spine similar to the dip of a cow's back. This gentle flow between two poses warms up your spine, relieving tension and improving flexibility.
Child's Pose 🙏
Kneel with your big toes together while sitting on your heels, keeping your knees in line with your hips. Bend forward while exhaling, finishing with your torso against your thighs, forehead to the floor. This restful pose stretches your lower back and hips, providing a gentle release.
Pelvic Tilts 🔄
Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Inhale, then exhale, engage your abs, and tilt your tailbone upward. Inhale again, letting your spine and pelvis return to the starting position. Repeat. Strengthen your lower back and abdominal muscles with this simple yet effective exercise.
Knee-to-Chest Stretch 🤗
Lie on your back. Lift one knee to your chest. Wrap your arms around your leg just below your knees and pull gently to your chest. Hold the stretch. Repeat for the other side. Helps to relax your lower back muscles and relieve pressure on your spine.
Bridges 🌉
Lie down on your back, bringing your feet almost to your backside and lifting your knees. Lay your hands beside you. Lift your pelvis and stomach to create a "bridge". Lift while breathing out, lower while breathing in. Repeat. Strengthen your glutes and lower back with this powerful exercise.
Remember to listen to your body and avoid any movements that cause pain. Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise routine. Stay active, watch your posture and take care of your back! 💪🎒
(PS: yoga balls, deep heat, hot baths and Epsom salts are wonderful 🛁)
