NDIS Support Worker Required
Complex Mental Health & Community Access

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and highly self-aware NDIS Support Workers to join a small, consistent support team for an adult participant with complex mental health and sensory support needs.
This role requires emotional intelligence, authenticity, and a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice. Consistency and honest communication are essential.
About the Participant
The participant is a 43-year-old adult living independently with a dog and pets. She works two casual jobs and values autonomy, clear communication, and respectful support relationships.
Support is required for an individual with:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 3)
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Chronic pain with variable mobility and hand strength
Significant sensory sensitivities (sound, light, temperature)
Memory and executive functioning challenges
The participant has experienced past support breakdowns and therefore requires carefully matched workers who are consistent, transparent, and genuine.
Essential Worker Attributes
Applicants must:
Identify as female
Be calm, emotionally regulated, and patient
Communicate in a direct, honest, and non-patronising manner
Avoid “business voice” or scripted interactions
Be comfortable providing reminders and gentle prompts
Be respectful of trust-building timelines
Be comfortable working around animals (a well-trained dog is present)
Maintain good personal hygiene and avoid strong perfumes or scents
Be non-religious or able to keep personal beliefs private and non-judgemental
Experience supporting adults with complex mental health conditions is essential.
Experience or understanding of dissociative disorders is highly desirable.
Support Model
A small team of 3–4 consistent support workers
One primary contact person for rostering and coordination
Strong preference for SMS/text-based communication
Emphasis on relationship-based, person-centred support
Shift Types & Duties
Work-Related Support
Support is primarily required for transport and assistance to and from a workplace in Beenleigh, including:
Personal care and light household tasks
Short errands (e.g. chemist)
Transport to and from work
Grocery shopping, meal prep, or household organisation depending on capacity
One of the participant’s jobs has a variable weekly schedule, so flexibility across the team is required.
Example shifts (subject to change):
Mondays and Thursdays
Midday and evening shifts
