Experienced Disability Support Worker needed for ongoing weekly assistance

Location: Upper Mount Gravatt, QLD

About the role
Seeking a motivated, reliable younger male support worker for ongoing weekly support for a goal‑driven, organized 30 year old gay participant.The worker will engage in a mix of transport, daily living support, and social/creative activities.

Schedule

Mondays: 7:30 am – 2:30 pm

Thursdays: 7:30 am – 1:30 pm

Fridays: 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Key responsibilities

Provide respectful, person‑centered support during scheduled shifts

Safely transport participant to and from activities, appointments, and outings

Collaborate on planning and maintaining routines and activities

Support participant’s sensory comfort and personal preferences during travel and outings

Essential requirements

Current NDIS registration or willingness to become registered through an NDIS‑registered provider

Reliable, fully insured vehicle with functioning air conditioning

Clean, comfortable vehicle environment with low or neutral scent; participant may play their own music during travel

Strong communication skills and ability to work professionally and respectfully with an adult participant

Demonstrated experience supporting adults with autism or similar support needs

Ability to commit to the listed weekly schedule long‑term

Desirable skills or interests

Interest or experience in music, photography, creative writing, board games, or similar leisure activities; helpful for rapport and shared activities

Calm, organized, and detail‑oriented approach to transport and daily routines

Ability to adapt to participant’s sensory needs and preferences in a positive way

We are seeking an experienced female Disability Support Worker to support a female NDIS participant living in East Brisbane.

This role focuses on mental health support, confidence building, and community access, with the aim of increasing independence and reducing reliance on family members for support.

Shift Details

Days: Tuesday & Thursday
Time: 9:30 am – 11:30 am
Frequency: Weekly, ongoing
Hours may increase if the support relationship progresses well

About the Participant

The participant:Compliance & Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain:
Certificate III or higher
Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
Current Police Check
Working With Children Check (Blue Card)
First Aid & CPR Certificate
Ability to follow NDIS Code of Conduct and privacy requirements

About the Participant

The participant:

Is an adult female living with her mother and 14-year-old daughter
Has mental health diagnoses, including schizophrenia
Wishes to access the community independently, without relying on her mum for support

Enjoys:

Going to the shops
Swimming
Using a treadmill
Walking
Is easily distracted by dogs and enjoys their presence
Holds a driver’s licence, but due to anxiety and mental health challenges has not been able to drive recently
One of her goals is to build confidence and skills to return to driving safely
Support will focus on emotional regulation, motivation, routine, and supported community participation.

Key Responsibilities

Support with community access and outings
Encourage independence and confidence building
Assist with attending events and activities
Support fitness and wellbeing activities (e.g. walking, swimming)
Provide calm, patient, and respectful mental health support
Work collaboratively with the participant and family when required

Essential Requirements

Female-identifying support worker
Proven experience supporting people with mental health conditions, including schizophrenia
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)
Current Police Check
Working With Children Check (Blue Card)
First Aid & CPR (preferred)
Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
Strong communication skills and emotional awareness
Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries

NDIS Support Worker Required

Location:Beenleigh

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and highly self-aware NDIS Support Workers to join a small, consistent support team for an adult participant with complex mental health and sensory support needs.
This role requires emotional intelligence, authenticity, and a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice. Consistency and honest communication are essential.

About the Participant

The participant is a 43-year-old adult living independently with a dog and pets. She works two casual jobs and values autonomy, clear communication, and respectful support relationships.
Support is required for an individual with:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 3)
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Chronic pain with variable mobility and hand strength
Significant sensory sensitivities (sound, light, temperature)
Memory and executive functioning challenges
The participant has experienced past support breakdowns and therefore requires carefully matched workers who are consistent, transparent, and genuine.

Essential Worker Attributes

Applicants must:

Identify as female
Be calm, emotionally regulated, and patient
Communicate in a direct, honest, and non-patronising manner
Avoid “business voice” or scripted interactions
Be comfortable providing reminders and gentle prompts
Be respectful of trust-building timelines
Be comfortable working around animals (a well-trained dog is present)
Maintain good personal hygiene and avoid strong perfumes or scents
Be non-religious or able to keep personal beliefs private and non-judgemental
Experience supporting adults with complex mental health conditions is essential.
Experience or understanding of dissociative disorders is highly desirable.

Support Model

A small team of 3–4 consistent support workers
One primary contact person for rostering and coordination
Strong preference for SMS/text-based communication
Emphasis on relationship-based, person-centred support

Shift Types & Duties

Work-Related Support

Support is primarily required for transport and assistance to and from a workplace in Beenleigh, including:

Personal care and light household tasks
Short errands (e.g. chemist)
Transport to and from work
Grocery shopping, meal prep, or household organisation depending on capacity

One of the participant’s jobs has a variable weekly schedule, so flexibility across the team is required.

Mondays and Thursdays
Midday and evening shifts

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented cleaner to provide weekly in-home cleaning support for an NDIS participant in Annerley.

This role suits someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, hygienic, and organised home environment and is comfortable working independently.

Job Description / Duties

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following tasks each week:

Laundry & Linen

Change bed linen weekly
Load washing machine
Hang washing out once completed
Fold all clean washing and put away neatly

General Cleaning

Dust surfaces throughout the home
Vacuum all required areas
Mop floors throughout the house
Empty all bins and place clean bags
Take out the bins to the front yard

General Cleaning
Dust surfaces throughout the home

Kitchen

Wash dishes and put them away
Wipe down kitchen cupboards
Clean refrigerator (external surfaces)
Wipe and sanitise bench tops

Previous cleaning experience preferred
Attention to detail and good hygiene standards
Reliability and punctuality
Comfortable working in a private home
NDIS experience is an advantage but not essential
