Health and NDIS appointments can feel overwhelming — but a little preparation goes a long way.

For smoother appointments, here are some tips you can try:
1️⃣ Write down your questions in advance
2️⃣ Bring a support person to help remember key details
3️⃣ Ask for written summaries or reports to take home

Being prepared means you get the most out of your time — and feel more in control of your care.

🗓️ Routines can be a powerful tool for people living with disability — they provide structure, reduce stress, and make daily life more predictable!

These are the practical routine-building tips you can try:
1️⃣ Start small — build one habit at a time
2️⃣ Use visual aids (calendars, sticky notes, apps) to stay on track
3️⃣ Be flexible — routines should support you, not control you

The right routine helps you feel in charge of your day, not the other way around.

Get to know her
I am a mature woman and I like things done a certain way around my home. It is important to me that I can find a reliable support worker who listens and cares, and likes dogs, because I foster. I like gardening and would need help taking care of plants, my home, and with cooking. I have Borderline personality disorder, anxiety and depression so it’s also important that a support worker understands what that can look like.

Her preferences
Worker requirements: Female workers only aged 46-65 years old

Looking for a female, mature support worker who is reliable and has experience with mental health management. Specifically with anxiety and depression, and some knowledge of borderline personality disorder is preferred. Someone who is proactive / active (long walks and cleaning), motivational, able to have a conversation but knows when I would like to work and not talk, someone who is comfortable keeping their phone in their bag during shift and able to communicate if they are running late or can not work over the set time.

I recently attended a community event in Brisbane and somehow ended up hosting!
This is definitely not my usual role in the spotlight 😅 but it was such a great experience — a reminder to say 'yes' to new opportunities and enjoy connecting with our local communities. 💙

Thank you to my new BFF, co-host,

Stress is part of life, but when it builds up, it can take a toll on our body and mind.

Here's 3 ways to manage stress today:
1️⃣ Try “box breathing” – inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4
2️⃣ Break tasks into smaller steps
3️⃣ Take a 10-minute break to reset

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is ask:
“Hey mate, how are you really going?”

Here are some tips for checking in on men in your life:
1️⃣ Pick a relaxed setting (like a walk, drive, or coffee)
2️⃣ Listen without judgement
3️⃣ Keep the door open for more conversations

Rememeber, because small check-ins can make a big difference!

🌿 Healing One Day at a Time
This month, our founder Chanel Roche celebrates four years of sobriety — a milestone of courage, self-awareness, and growth.

Chanel’s journey reflects the heart of Flow Support: choosing health, breaking cycles, and believing that recovery looks different for everyone.

Recovery isn’t about perfection — it’s about persistence. Some days are smooth, others are rocky, but every step matters.

Whether you’re just starting, rebuilding, or holding steady, your progress counts. It’s never too late to begin again, and a bad day is never the end.

To everyone on their own path — we see you, we celebrate you, and we walk beside you. 🌱

🧔 November is all about shining a light on men’s mental health. Too often, men feel they need to “tough it out” in silence. But the truth is: asking for help is strength, not weakness.

💡 This Movember, let’s encourage open conversations, break down stigma, and remind the men in our lives that it’s okay to talk.

🎃 Happy Halloween from the Flow Support team! 👻

This spooky season, we’re all about treats, not tricks — and that means treating yourself kindly, taking care of your wellbeing, and finding joy in the little moments (like the first bite of a chocolate pumpkin 🍫🎃).

Whether you’re dressing up, handing out candy, or spending the night watching scary movies, remember: even the best ghosts need a little self-care! 👻💙

Stay safe, stay spooky, and may your day be boo-tiful!
