Today, we pause together on the National Day of Mourning to honour and remember the lives lost, and to acknowledge the deep impact of grief felt across families, communities, and our nation.

At 6:01pm (AEST) tonight, we invite you to take a quiet moment to pay your respects in whatever way feels right for you. This could be by:

• Observing a moment of silence
• Lighting a candle
• Reflecting on someone you have lost
• Reaching out to someone who may be grieving

There is no right or wrong way to mourn — only what feels meaningful to you.
Today is about remembrance, compassion, and standing together in shared humanity.
